Sandy beach is a beautiful beach to hang out on. I was told that there is lots of coral and rocks, so it's mainly good for seasoned surfers, so I just watched them. But, the beach itself is beautiful and has very little crowds.

We visited right before a storm came in so we literally ran out of this beach. We were able to walk the shore and find sea glass. This sand is dense and love the feeling of it on my feet! We didn't go in the water but saw a girl skimboarding. The shore has a large shore break so I... More

This is known as a surfer beach but for the week we were there the waves were mild, just perfect for boogie boards. There were never any dangerous currents or waves, the water is perfect, and there are no rocks. A perfect place to spend a week.

Excellent beach for sunning, swimming, paddle boarding and collecting sea glass. There are quality gift shops nearby with local crafts and fair traded items for sale. You can find wonderful food close by and a bar, TamBoo, for a drink. This would be a good beach to bring children, as the surf is not that rough and there is plenty... More

Very big and strong waves. Not good for kids. Too rough. This is true in general of the Sandy Beach area.

Went to Sandy Beach on a kind of wet afternoon and loved it! A lot of surfers were out, and the beach is wide and sandy as it says. Some neat little shops tucked in all around there and it was actually pretty quiet there. It's off the beaten path so it's great to get local flavor. While Tamboo the... More

Crystal Clear water, soft bottom (sand) so tykes can play safely. Tamboo right there for cold beers and lunch. Never seemed crowded even on Easter weekend.

Great sandy beach with plenty of space for sun tanning. Other beaches nearby don't have a lot of sand or space.

Sandy Beach is a great beach for surfing and from what I understand it can also be calm enough to swim. The day I visited the beach the surf was rough and a lot of surfer were taking advantage of the big surf. I wanted to get a few pictures of some of the waves with my GoPro and went... More
