We stayed on the west end of PR to dive on that side. The weather was a bit rough so Taino could not take us out to Desecheo Island. This was not Taino Divers' fault because they do not have large boats which will take rough waters. If you wanted to dive, they did not offer many alternatives--at least none... More

Let me just start by thanking Captain Frank and 1st mate Izzy. I have dove Desecheo island extensively...and what I mean by extensive is I have over 1000 dives out there. Yes, one thousand. It is because I used to work as a dive instructor here. The wind and waves were too rough to make it out to the island... More

I was referred to this dive shop by past guests as the only local shop that travels to the island (Desecheo). When my fiance and I stopped in to ask if they were going to the island they simply said "no too rough" and went on to turning away the next customer. I waiting for their attention again and asked... Every once and a while you book an excursion and come back thinking that was a waste of time and nothing like what they said. This is one of those excursions. We booked the "sunset cruise and whale watch" for March 11th out of Rincon. We were sold on seeing the sunset from out in the ocean and seeing whales.... More

Fantastic all around! First and foremost, Desecheo does have world-class diving - I've truly dove the best all around the world and I'll admit I was skeptical before going! Amazing visibility, very healthy reefs, lots of fish, gorgeous swim-throughs, and much more. As for Taino Divers themselves, these guys did a wonderful job prioritizing safety and responsibility yet remaining super... More

We have gone snorkeling with Taino Divers on 3 separate occasions / 3 separate years. Each time we've HOPED to go out to Desecheo Island but the weather was uncooperative and we agreed to snorkel at another reef. The passengers on all three trips were a combo of snorkelers and scuba divers. In my opinion, the Taino Divers staff can... More

Excellent crew. Good equipment and boat. Skipper-owner Carson is a great guy, who made me feel welcome. Service on boat was fantastic. Dive master was very aware under water and had brought extra weights saving my dive as I had become positively buoyant half way through the first dive. Didn't get to go to Desecheo due to choppy seas, but... More

The captain and 1st mate were both uninterested in taking a bunch of tourists out for a whale watching trip and it showed. The captain heard on his radio some boat had just caught a large king fish so he set a lure and cast his pole as we slowly troweled in shallow 40' seas. Neither he or the 1st... More

I am sorry that your whale watching experience was not fulfilled. Taino Divers cannot guarantee that whales will cooperate. That is why the charter leaves at 4:30pm and returns at sunset approx 6:30pm. This is a sunset cruise/ whale watch. We explain to you that your are not always going to see whales matter of fact it is about a... More

We brought my 14 year old son to do a discover dive for his birthday present while we were on vacation. Captain Carson took him out at cuevas at desecho island. He had a great experience. As a mom I felt confident in the experience and professionalism of their crew. Captain Carson was also wonderful with my 5 year old... More

The water was too choppy to make it out the Desecheo Island like we'd requested, but they were flexible and took us to local reef. The gear was good and well maintained. Guides and captain were very fun and helpful. Pasta salad between dives was awesome!
