We visited Wadi Bani Khalid on a very hot and sticky April day. After parking the car, we walked to the first pool area, with the cafe and toilets. Wow, this is nice and pretty we thought. However with another 15-20mins walk we then came across the real sight that you have to see - bright blue water flowing between... More

From the parking it is a pleasant 10 minute walk, passing palm and mango groves, to the wadi bin Khalid. Part of the route is 'balancing' on the edge of the falaj (water channel) which can be a little tricky...As such it is not wheel chair friendly and people with mobility issues may find it treacherous. The reward on arriving... More

I visited this pretty place on April 3, 2015. My base was my uncle's house in sur & it's about 2 hrs drive (a short deviation from the old highway to Muscat). Once there, you'll realise that you are dealing with a lot of water (especially considering the fact that you are in a desert) surrounded by a mountainous terrain.... More

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Oman! In fact, if you get there early enough during the day, can have some of the areas to your self. The best part of the Wadi is actually towards the end, near the caves. We jumped off the cliffs into the water, it was totally awesome. There is also... More

There is no arguing the beauty of this place, and the drive there is spectacular. However, I visited on a Friday, and the site itself was heaving with picnickers, so the potential peace and awesomeness of the location was somewhat lost in the banality of people having a very good time! I'm glad I visited but I didnt stay long.... More

The Wadi is close to villages, thus there is a request for a modest swimming dress code for women. We did not do a hike on the trek. But we enjoyed a great time swimming in the first pool. There is a restaurant there which we didn't try, it offers a lunch buffet for OMR 5. Depths of the pools... More

It's hard to imagine driving 25km into the mountains from the main road and then finding this stunning oasis. If you want to swim here you can ...the water is clear and full of small fish. There is a coffee shop/small restaurant and toilet. If you are fit enough then you can walk over the rocks for about 1km to... More

This Wadi is really beautiful and well worth the visit. The natural beauty is quite spectacular and you are left in awe most of the time. However, the start of the Wadi is a bit too kitsch. It's all man made and looks a bit like a tacky water park. That wasn't very nice, but it's really worth it when... More
