We went to Sunrise a day after fresh snow fell on Dec 26, 2015. The mountain and the snow were awesome. I was skiing at Wolf Creek in Colorado last spring and I found the skiing here just as fun. I've been to better run garage sales in the ghetto that are better run than this place. I will make... More

The resort is great with 65 runs and well groomed. The other facilities are a little tired. Guest services desk can take an hour to get to the front, this is where you buy season tickets or get answers for anything else. The restaurants close too early- some before the park closes. It still is one of my favorite ski... More

A bit far from Phoenix but worth every minute. Three mountains, high speed quad, reasonable lift tickets, great selection of runs, good snow. This is the best place to ski because the weather is warm and sunny. We used to drive the 4.5 hours there ski and drive back. Now we go up the day before stay overnite in a... More

Okay this place seriously has some beautiful scenery! That alone made it worth the slippery journey in our two-wheel drive from Pinetop. We didn't actually ski or snowboard as we didn't have the money, time or experience but we did rent some snow pants for $10/day and bought some sunglasses ($20) for our teenage son. The girl that helped us... More

Sunrise is approximately a 3.5 hour drive from Phoenix. It is the largest ski resort in Arizona. Lots of lifts and greens, blues, and black diamonds to ski. Beautiful ski area. My children ages 11 and 12 love to ski and enjoyed the time we spent up here.

This is a great place to ski if you are living in Phoenix area, as it is only a 3-4 hours drive to Pinetop, where there are hotels and some great cabins/houses to rent. The skiing area is sufficient for most levels, if you are looking for a good range of runs this meets most skiers needs for a few... More

Sunrise remains the best skiing option in Arizona, particularly if you want to ski 2-3 days without paying the price of airline tickets etc. This year the snow was excellent, best I have ever seen it on this mountain (over the last 3 years). Deficiencies of the resort are well known, only one newer fast quad, the rest are really... More

Skiing was great. We prefer Sunrise over Snowbowl for Arizona skiing because Sunrise had many more runs to choose from. They make their own snow too. If you stay in Pinetop-Lakeside it is a short 40 min drive each day. Only criticism is that the restaurants could be run better because it takes forever to get food.

Staff were very attentive and helpful. Remarkably so. The lodge was too small for the number of people. That was our only discomfort. Otherwise, a great time.

We didn't go on the lifts as we do not ski or snowboard and they only offer Scenic lifts M-F. Beautiful views even not being on the lifts.
