Winemaker Jacob Stein has worked in many regions around the world including Germany, Italy, Canada and Margaret River in Western Australia. His experience abroad has brought wealth of new technique and theories and is working well to maintain the traditions and quality of all wines made at Robert Stein. Robert Stein produces a wide range of award winning, single vineyard wines, made solely from their 60 acre vineyard. The quality of the wines is well recognized, winning the 'Most Successful Exhibitor' at the Mudgee Wine Show in 2009, 2010 & 2011, and also being awarded the highest five star rating by James Halliday in 2011 & 2012.Motorcycle fans will marvel at the exhibition of bike memorabilia on permanent display at the winery or make use of the deck by packing a picnic lunch and overlook the vineyard into one of the best views in Mudgee. We visited Steins especially to try the rose which we had enjoyed some time ago. We tasted the rose on the cellar door list - lovely, and then were invited to try a different, unlisted rose which was absolutely delicious and we purchased. Only sorry we didn't have time to have lunch at the restaurant and will hope to do... More

Second visit to this very friendly winery, not only do they produce fabulous wines but they have a great Motorcylce Museum which is free to enter. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Great place to chill out and enjoy the fantastic views.

Had a great experience in Mudgee when I attended in March with my friends. A great start to our weekend away. Friends had been prior and highly recommended Robert Stein Winery, so it was the first place to visit on our list. Located just outside of town this picturesque property overlooked the vineyard. We ventured into the warm Cellar Door and was greeted by an inviting lady who was extremely helpful and made our... This Rustic cellar door and winery has one of Mudgee's best views and atmosphere. The wines are produced by 3rd Generation, Jacob Stein, who we had the pleasure of meeting, which are among the best quality (and value) in Mudgee. It's very family focused, and the Motorcycle museum was very interesting. They now have a restaurant on site, which looks... More

It's a very small cellar door but they have a large range of wines with something from nearly every corner of the spectrum. We loved the sparkling red but we also bought a couple of the sweeter whites and a rose to enjoy that evening. The vineyard itself is also beautiful with it's view of the hills across the plantation.

The new Pumphouse Restaurant at Robert Steins Winery is one of the best meals in Mudgee to go with their great and reasonably priced wines. Recommended.

We went on a Friday and enjoyed tasting the wines some of which our party purchased. If you like motorcycles don't miss the free display.
