Description: Robert Stein Vineyard and Winery is one of Mudgee's premier wine labels...
Robert Stein Vineyard and Winery is one of Mudgee's premier wine labels, established in 1976 and now in its third generation of expertise. Robert Stein produces a wide range of award winning, single vineyard wines, made solely from our 60 acre vineyard. Third Generation, Jacob Stein is at the helm as Winemaker with the quality of the wines being well recognized, winning the 'Most Successful Exhibitor' at the Mudgee Wine Show in 2014. Robert Stein Winery is also rated Red 5 Star by James Halliday, Australias most acclaimed wine critic. Motorcycle fans will marvel at the exhibition of bike memorabilia on permanent display at the winery. The most recent addition, being the opening of Pipeclay Pumphouse restaurant overlooking the vineyard with one of the best views in Mudgee. We invite you to 'share our rewards...'

Not just nice wines, but this vineyard incorporates a motorcycle museum for those with a powered two wheeled persuasion! Mudgee vineyards don't rate all that well with James Halliday but this joint has earned a five star rating!! The ladies in the tasting room know their stuff, but a little more enthusiasm would not go astray. It's best not to... More

Might be off the main road, but a must see winery. Top quality wines with heaps of great information from some very engaging ladies behind the counter. Managed to try a few wines, both white and red, but was hooked on the rum cask tawny port. Walked away with a half dozen bottles of local wine - mission accomplished.

Enjoyed the large selection of wines. Very engaging lady, who was really helpful and patient for a non wine drinker! Came away with two bottles. Woo hoo!!! Great motorbike collection of Nortons and other collectibles, BSA, BMWs and Hondas to name a few. Restaurant there, but we didn't stay, looked nice from outside.

When we first arrived they were busy and slow to start to deal with us for the wine tasting, but that soon changed and after that they were very attentive and informative. The gentleman serving us was very knowledgeable and informative - telling us a lot about the winery and the particular wines we were tasting. If you are wanting... More

We tried Robert Stein's wine in the tasting room and later in the restaurant. The red wines in the tasting room were cold and this influenced enjoyment. In contrast we had the same wines served room temperature at dinner in the restaurant and they were delicious. The man on duty in the tasting room was somewhat distant and not forthcoming... More

Very nice restaurant. The food was great, the ambience pleasant and the staff eager, affable and able. Hard not to like. I had the soufflé and the pork and very tasty it was too. Hit the spot nicely. Wine recommendations were good too with the Petit Verdot an unexpected highlight. Prices were fine. All in all, a good night here... More

We took our overseas visitors to sample some Mudgee wine. Stein winery was their favorite! Great wine, we all especially loved the Harvest Gold! Great deal on purchase of 6 bottles. Motorcycle collection was a hit with the males in our group!

We attended Robert Stein Winery Footcrush feast, and were extremely pleased with the excellent wine, tasty food and novel entertainment. We were greeted with sparkling red or white wine and some delicious finger food, before Jacob led an interesting and informative tour of the vineyard and garden. After the footcrush event, we toured the winery itself for more frivolity and... More

Just like to say a big Thankyou for allowing us to come to the Footcrush 2015. The food was amazing and especially with the matching wines. Everything was perfect. We even came back the next day and tried the other wines that we didn't taste at Footcrush, and purchased a few cases of wine. Definitely a recommendation winery!!!

Arrived at 4.15 on Saturday, tasted some really promising wine. My wife and I were not made to feel welcome and rushed to leave and so unfortunately did not taste the whole range. The reception needs a serious reform if you want to sell more of your quality wine.
