Woweee - Castle Rock was gorgeous, beautiful and totally untouched. Worth the 8km walk - take your camera!

This is a fabulous spot to go for a lovely, easy walk (just my kinda walk), is only an 8 k track and has some lovely views as well as great bird serenades. Also only about 1/2 hr drive from Mudgee, so very accessable.

Moolarben Picnic area is about 25 minutes drive from Mudgee and well into the countryside. It's a pretty and shaded spot known for birdlife. The picnic area is peaceful and a pleasant place to relax as you have a bite. Facilities are basic - a simple toilet, no running water, 2 iron barbies and a picnic table. Plenty of ants... More
