Beautiful monastery, set with in the walls of busy bustling Agia Napa, very calm and tranquil, beautiful inside where you can light a candle for loved ones and write a note for good health for friends and family, We were staying in Protaras and visited Agia Napa purely to see the monastery as we were nearing the end of our... This medieval monastery built in the early sixteenth century long before this small village became a holiday hotspot is dedicated to 'Our Lady of the Forests', Napa meaning forest or woodlands valley. Such a wonderful small and wall enclosed monastery stands in what is now the heart of this resort overlooking Ayia Napa Square in one direction with the strip... More

The monastery is absolutely gorgeous, set, contrastingly, near the main Ayia Napa strip, which seems only to enhance its beauty. The monastery has managed to preserve a peace whilst still remaining open to the public. My cousin had wedding photos in the alcoves, and these turned out wonderful!

Very paradoxal place... Located just few steps away from the party area Ayia Nappa Square... U expect everything to be there but a monaster... Yet this monaster is very unique and charming... True getaway that will take you back in time... The way it us lightened in the evening is sooooo beautiful... Recommended...

The monastery dates back to the 16th Century when Ayia Napa was a small village. Now it sits serenely overlooking a very different place in the 21st Century with all it's noise and bright lights, It is only a building but if it could speak perhaps it would explain that it understands and that life moves on! it almost exudes... Went to the monastery with family and friends found it very peaceful there is no charge but there is a box to donate where you can also light a taper The monastery consists of two parts one is older and carved out of the Rock and you can purchase a small bottle of holy water it's worth a visit

We visited Ayia Napa monastery by chance one day while walking in town. It's a must see visit. The church and up keep of the old buildings are a sight to see. The mosaic art work are worth the visit, if nothing else.

Beautiful place to visit, so calming and tranquil, stepping back in time you forget about all the hustle and bustle of the town centre going on outside the walls!
