This extremely beautiful church is worth a visit. The interior is decorated with extraordinary azulejo panels dating back from the 18th century. Amazingly the church survived the big earthquake in 1755 and only five tiles were dislodged. Incredible atmosphere and deeply touching!

Situated just off the main Faro to Almancil road this is a must see location. WHY? You will be amazed when you see the walls and ceiling completely covered by traditional Portuguese Blue Tiles. It is a stunning site and one can sit down inside the beautiful church and just wonder at the workmanship and beauty.. Definately worth going out... More

It's not easy to find, it's small and for ignorant reasons you are not allowed to take photos (flash may be prohibited, but to not allow photographs without flash is just lack of respect for the visitor). But it is so well worth it. The stunning beauty contrast of the minimalistic exterior and the rich aesthetic treasure of the interior... More
