I would not (again) travel out of the way to get there, but I would recommend a stop for anyone who is already in the Häma area. If you combine the castle with the other museums and the festival, it'd be part of a fun day in Häma. The castle itself is small and sparse. It did not spark the... More

It's interesting and well preserved. The staff is nice and there is quite a lot to do and see. The only negative would be the confusing structure of the place though it might be down to us being tired. Still, a calm and nice visit. The special room for kids to play in was also very good.

Nice location and area. The castle has been kept in a good condition and the exhibition is interesting. We visited the castle during Häme Medieval Fair, when there is a lot more to see as well.

Very interesting old med-evil castle in Hämeenlinna. There are a lot of parts that are still in the same as in early days.

This is a very impressive, well-preserved castle adjacent to a military museum. The tour was excellent and the guide very informative.

The only castle made of red tiles in Finland. Dates back to the 13th century. I strongly recommend the guided tour because otherwise it's hard to find out all the interesting aspects of the castle.

This medieval castle is located right on the shore of Lake Hämeenlinna near the town center. There are organized public events, as well as celebrations such as weddings etc. The castle is also located in the Prison Museum and the Finnish Artillery Museum. This is an interesting place to visit for all ages.

Been there last summer with a group of international travelers. We enjoyed the guided tour. Unusual building by Finnish standards. History goes back to 11/12th centures. A good place to remember Finland's big fear of their eastern neighbors.

After castles in France and Spain the Hame Castle looks at the first glance rather modest, but if you take into account beautiful surroundings, peaceful lake on the shores of which sits the castle and a rather unusual purely Northern German and Scandinavian fortress architecture, then it becomes clear that the place is worth a visit.Besides the excellent Armor museum is not far...
