You must drive by this tourist attraction..along Albany Hway to roundabout. Go straight through to Middleton Road, turn left and you are almost there..parking is difficult so for safety reasons drive by and check out possible area and come back for a photo..

Almost missed it until I saw the cute dog collar drawn on the stone. Parked at the nearby dog rock area and it's quite a cute place to take a few candid shots.

We stayed here on the recommendation of family. A warm welcome on reception and the lady was very helpful advising us of places to visit. Room was large, bed comfy and very clean (they had just finished the refurbishment). Basic comfort, no views, easy walk into the town and overall good value for money.

Drop by if really got nowhere to go. There are some shops and free parking nearby as well. There is a hotel in front of the rock and it was pretty expensive.

There is no way of stress to see this place. It lies on the street while travelling to EMu point. Not much attractive but still a place to see in Albany.

My low score is not a criticism but it is just a rock. As the name suggests, Dog Rock is a large rock similarly-shaped to a dog's head. It's centrally located in the town (yes, I know it's called a city but it's always felt like a lovely country coastal town to me) with a hotel and shopping centre of... More

nice to have a look, its just a rock like a dog looking up, dont bother taking a detour to see it, nothing else other than that. you can not climb it, just have a look.

Actually looks like a dog. There is an interesting story why it was actually called Dog Rock....but I won't spoil it for you. We stayed at the motel across the road and had brunch at the park across the road which has another 3 or 4 monstrous rocks. Worth a look

We drove past this rock daily and it gave us enjoyment each time. If you have children, this is a must. It doesn't need a lot of time.

One of the great natural wonders of Albany , Dog Rock is conveniently located on the footpath of Middleton Rd Albany right next to the shops. It takes all of 3 minutes to stop the car and have the kids photo taken in front of a very large boulder that looks like a Labradors head baying at the moon. Worth... More
