Good Photo Opportunity

Just cannot miss the opportunity to get a photo of this granite rock, which has a dog collar painted on it. There are shops nearby at Woolworth shopping centre

Well you just CAN"T come to Albany and not get your photo of this icon. Being near Woolworths shopping Centre, you have palking and shopping available. You can stay over the road at the Dog Rock Motel. Overseas visitors love this granite outcrop formed by Nature. Other granite outcrops can be admired in the council park over the road. A... More

In the centre of town adjacent to one of the main roads is Dog Rock, it has parking near by and worth a few minutes to stop and take a photo.

A huge rock in the middle of town that looks like the head of a dog. A collar has been painted adding to the effect.

The truly amazing thing about this rock is that it is a natural formation that looks just like a dog's head. Someone has even painted a collar on it. It must be seen to be believed and it is completely free.

A huge rock at the side of the road which looked like a dog's head at an angle. Great place to stop for a picture. Next to this rock are a few shops (mini mart). Be careful of cars as this rock is next to the road.

Dog Rock could have been a top attraction but sadly the commercial development surrounding it detracts from the experience. It could still be saved by planting a LOT of trees so fingers crossed for its future.

You must drive by this tourist attraction..along Albany Hway to roundabout. Go straight through to Middleton Road, turn left and you are almost there..parking is difficult so for safety reasons drive by and check out possible area and come back for a photo..

Almost missed it until I saw the cute dog collar drawn on the stone. Parked at the nearby dog rock area and it's quite a cute place to take a few candid shots.

We stayed here on the recommendation of family. A warm welcome on reception and the lady was very helpful advising us of places to visit. Room was large, bed comfy and very clean (they had just finished the refurbishment). Basic comfort, no views, easy walk into the town and overall good value for money.
