I recommend the long walk around griffiths island if you can. We saw wallabies and the mutton bird homes. Some beautiful secluded beach areas and rock pools then the magnificent lighthouse. Take as many photos as you can. Also saw a dolphin swimming down the inlet channel.

Lovely little island which is a breeding place for shearwaters from November through to end April. Nice lighthouse, easy paths to follow except for short section on south beach side requiring climbing over rocks at high tide. Beach has awesome sound of crashing waves, tinkling of water through rocks and soft rolling waves at the same time- a beachlover's symphony.I... More

Interesting and not too difficult walk - 3km / 1.9 mile walk around Island. Can be "bracing" as the offshore side of Island can suffer strong winds off the sea. Path quite good, solid and obvious for most of walk, but a part takes to beach / dunes, and some, small, rocks - but, so popular - just follow the... More

This is a lovely walk along the river, across beaches through a bit of scrub and a lighthouse to visit as well. On a fine day pack a picnic and swimsuit as there are some lovely beaches, many child friendly.

This little walk around is a lovely way to spend an hour in a town that pretty much has nothing else except pubs (which for me was great). There are many little beach spots on the walk round and shallow water areas. Beautiful walk.

A great walk around the island, in fact we went round twice in 2 days. Beautiful waves, great views and seeing kangaroos just made it more special. Highly recommended.

Been going to Griffith Island since I was little. Lovely loop walk along the beach to the Lighthouse and then back along the Moyne River.
