Good family time. Best time was not watching the pengins crossing the beach but walking back to the centre and seeing the penguins in the sand dunes finding their burrows..

Good for first timers; difficult to see if not right at the front because of other tourists but for the awesome rangers herd the tourists to remain seated amidst the excitement.

Here's the thing, the premium seating area gives you a more up close encounter with the penguins as it is close to the rocky area that many of them come out from. The rocky area is more protected. However, it is pricier and you must arrive earlier as these tickets do sell out. If you are going to be at... More

Having seen penguins at Omaru in New Zealand, where there is a theatre to watch the birds return to their nests, we decided to pay the extra and go in a small group (12 of us) and a ranger to see the penguins on the beach. I am so glad that we did when I saw the masses of cars... More

Our group of 9 with ages ranging from 42 to 2 all had a wonderful time!! Getting so close to the penguins as they made their way to their burrows was a delight.

Booked ahead for 6 adults, two pensioners and two children under 4, told to arrive for 5.15pm to secure good viewing we left our accommodation at 5pm as we were close by, the traffic was horrendous which meant that by the time we parked and got to the viewing area, the crowd was so large there was no way we... We visited the Penguin parade tonight on 19th April 2014 after much anticipation and it being a highlight of our trip to Phillip Island for a few days over Easter. All we can say, is that the entire experience left us rather cold and sickened at the level of tourism hype and expense compared to the actual penguin experience (... More

My second visit here, 15 years apart. The organisation is very poor, mainly not their fault. It's like a rugby scrum once they open the doors. Regarding some other complaints I've read, floodlights on the beach. They're not bright, they've been there for years, the penguins are use to them. I don't understand the no photos without flash. But that's... More

Best to pre-purchse tickets otherwise the wait in line could be a while. We thought it was well organised and was worth sitting in the cold for the short wait for the penguins to arrive. The earlier you get there the beeter as you will be closer to the sand but we were halfway up and still had a great... More
