We visited the Penguin parade tonight on 19th April 2014 after much anticipation and it being a highlight of our trip to Phillip Island for a few days over Easter. All we can say, is that the entire experience left us rather cold and sickened at the level of tourism hype and expense compared to the actual penguin experience (... More

My second visit here, 15 years apart. The organisation is very poor, mainly not their fault. It's like a rugby scrum once they open the doors. Regarding some other complaints I've read, floodlights on the beach. They're not bright, they've been there for years, the penguins are use to them. I don't understand the no photos without flash. But that's... More

Best to pre-purchse tickets otherwise the wait in line could be a while. We thought it was well organised and was worth sitting in the cold for the short wait for the penguins to arrive. The earlier you get there the beeter as you will be closer to the sand but we were halfway up and still had a great... More

It is so great to enjoy a no-electronics, no-mechanical, no-loud music event that brings you closer to nature. The staff are dedicated and helpful and it is easy access for all (with a shuttle if needed). Do not expect big things, just natural things - awesome

Wonderful attraction to visit. Our boys of 4 & 2 years loved it. Get there early as it gets really busy. Take some food to snack on while waiting the hour for the penguins to arrive. (the queue for the café is horrendous).

Well worth the wait to see thousands of Little Penguins arrive on the beach at dusk ..often after swimming thirty miles at sea to come back to their burrows for the night and walk as far as three Km . The talk before by one of the Rangers was very informative and the centre was well run with a reasonable... More

This is amazing and not to be missed. Watching the little penguins get up the courage to charge up the beach--or wimp out and run back in the water--was a lot of fun. Hearing the noise they made in the bush as they reunited with their mates was also incredible. We paid the extra to get a ranger-led tour and... More

This is one of the major attractions in Phillip Island. I wasn't all that keen to go, but my wife insisted. It wasn't all that cheap. $42 for two with Seniors Cards. We waited about 1.5 hours to go down to the sea to wait for them to arrive. The crowds all seemed to find a seat. In the failing... More

Whilst a little pricey, it was a great opportunity to see penguins in the wild up so close. Our family are animal lovers, so to see these creatures up close, yet in their natural habitat was a thrill. Make sure you bring something warm to wear as it does get pretty chilly!

Although this was a great experience, you need to be aware that you will be packed I like sardines and be surrounded by families with small children who ignore the requests of the Rangers to be quiet. Maybe there should be an age limit as you do need to sit still and quiet for a long time in the cold... More
