A small fishing village on the south coast of Kangaroo Island, with a caravan park & several holiday cabins, has a beautiful beach to walk along. Part of the beach is protected by the headland Point Ellen. It is a good place to stop & have your lake away lunch bought at the Vivonne Bay General Store. The water was... More

What a beautiful beach to walk along its shore. So peaceful, we love sitting on the beach and just listening to the waves, but it iss a lovely clean beach, very pretty.

This is my most favourite places in Kangaroo Island. The water is crystal clear, and it looks like something on a post card. Perfect for a quiet afternoon, soaking in some sun. I'm sure it would make for a lovely snorkelling spot in warmer months! My husband proposed to me on the jetty, five years ago, so it will always... More

Nice beach but not quite sure why it's been voted #1 in Australia? Pretty to look at. Clear blue waters. The jetty is a great spot to take a photo back towards the beach. The town itself is virtually non- existent. There is a General Store & that is it!

The view of the bay was fantastic. The water was crystal clear and the ocean had an almost Mediterranean blue colour.

Loved the crystal mint color of the water, the pounding of the waves and he leisurely stroll along the sand. Great wilderness area. Accommodation comfortable and clean. Could have stayed there longer than o/n.

A great remote beach when compared to many others. We stayed nearly at Vivonne lodge, like an upmarket hostel, basic but good - the people were great. Early Sunday morning wander is an absolute must!
