If you are intending to hike the trails around Katoomba and Leura, you do NOT need to buy a 40$ ticket for the BM explore bus, its completely useless and relies on turist not knowing the area. Simply take the public bus to Katoomba falls and ahead of you lies a wide aray of fantastic hiking trails! Realising that on... More

The explorer bus is a great way in which to visit many of the attractions located in the Blue Mountains. The two drivers that I had the pleasure of riding with, both were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the different stops and of the area. For myself its well worth the cost.

This was a totally great experience. Hop off the train from Sydney central Railway station and straight into office to buy ticket - very friendly counter person and lots of info given. Have a good light lunch/brekky/morning tea at Pomegranate Café, then visit the marvellous Cultural Centre by the Carrington Hotel. Walk down the main street of Katoomba with lovely... More

This is the best way to explore the Blue Mountain. Don't have to pre book a tour which is much more expensive. My advice is take a train to Lithgow (blue mountaine line ) at the Central Station and make a stop at Katoomba. Once arrived, just go directly to the Explorer Bus counter at the Katoomba Station and purchase... More

For tourists who are looking at doing the various walks advertised by blue mountains, taking the bus would be a good option. The bus driver generally knows about the area and the walks very well and was able to guide us very well on how to complete them. Taking the bus after finishing a walk helped in taking some rest... Wherever we visit a new city or attraction we ensure we usually use the first day to get the tourist bus tour just to get our brains around the place. We've done this quite a lot but I've never experienced a bus ride like this one. It was absolutely top class and for a reason even better than the view... More

We visit the blue mountains a lot, but had never done this - so decided to give it a go. It was a great way to kill a few hours and the drivers were very informative. I'm not sure the tourists got all the Australian jokes but it was entertaining. It's great value if you book through YHA - as... More

4 out of 5 for the bus service/guide book/tour guide/friendly staff. Little bit on the pricey side but for a first time visitor it's a must as the public transport doesn't reach the touristy sites. The buses are frequent and get you straight to the walks and photo spots. Some of the walk maps are a bit hard to follow... More

I am so pleased however that you enjoyed your day and we do have a number of all weather attractions. Enjoy the... More

First off, I had checked the weather report and known that the past two days would be rainy. The day before I had opted to walk around the city first - it rained for an hour or two then was extremely sunny and hot the rest of the day. Being my last day in Australia I decided to take the... More

we arrived at 2:15 and were offered a discount since there were not many hours left to explore. but we only stopped at one place to look at the 3 sisters rock; we could not see a thing; the rest of the bus tour was just foggy and dense clouds; basically it was just a waste of time and money...
