Another beautiful area by Airlie beach , all very close and convenient to walk around. Nothing to dislike about it.

Shute Harbour is a gateway to the Whitsundays. Just beautiful and a great place to visit. First went there 9 years ago, back again 4 years ago and just about to go again for the third time.

Visited Shute Harbour about 08.30 one morning in early February. Shotgun city. Saw two people sitting on a bench and one person rinsing wet suits. This really is not a holiday destination and the only reason to visit is to catch a ferry to one of the islands, or hire a sailing boat. The road to/from the Harbour is good.

Look this is ok but at the end of the day its just a harbour and thats it. It is pretty and definitely worth a look but there are better harbours.

We fished there the other day - you def. want to drive to Shute because there is not much going other than the jetty and public toilets. If you get the bus you may get stuck out there. Beautiful sunset over the hills. We didn't catch any fish but others did and we saw two barracudas .

Breathtaking views and a nice chance for a walk. You can take a drive or a bus if your mobility isn't fabulous and this is well worth it if you are spending a few days at Airlie, just to round your trip out and experience the far side of town. If you only have limited time give it a miss... More

Thas was once a busy harbour for all boats to the reef and Islands. It has now not used as all boats and reef cruises have moved to Able Point or Cover Marina. Not worth the visit except for fishing

It is paradise found. So tranquil, quiet. Coral point Lodge is so peaceful and the owner, Brian is so hospitable and makes you feel very welcome. Short drive into busy Airlie. You can catch a ferryclose by to Hamilton. We will be back to stay here again.

Great view towards the islands. Even if you do not want to enter a boat. The scenic view is just fantastic.
