We had the best day sailing on the Derwent Hunter. The snorkelling was fantastic and we got to see quite a few turtles and fantastic fish. The ship was pretty special to be on. While not all flash and showy, it was well maintained and authentic. The kids got to raise one of the smaller sails and also got to... More

Beautiful ship, delicious food and a nice crew. The second snorkeling spot was great: lots of turtless

Yesterday we travelled aboard the magnificent Derwent Hunter and what a true beauty she is. The ship is a real historic tallship and is kept beautifully. Well that was just the first 5 minutes. From there the day got better and better. We left the harbour and sailed to our first snorkel destination, on the voyage we were fed an... More

This is a more peaceful and informative one day trip. Staff on board are like a family and would love to share all knowledge about the histories of this tall ship and the history of Whitsunday islands.

Trip there was great, snorkeling experience was second to none especially for those looking for an intimate yet exciting adventure with their partners. However the trip back was not as exciting, except for Zac's entertaining renditions of The Eagles and Cat Stevens.

Hi, there, thanks for the great feedback, glad you had a great day. On the way back under sail we do entertain with our marine talks and on most days have some live guitar music from the crew as well, with a few cold drinks to top off the experience. Enjoy the rest of your holiday. More

This was our Christmas present to ourselves; a day trip on the Derwent Hunter out to snorkel on the Great Barrier Reef. What a lovely ship with a great crew to match. We were fed well, treated to a bit of nautical history, and ferried to two beaches from which we could snorkel. We even got to help hoist and... More

We were recommended the Derwent hunter by a travel agent in Airlie Beach as a great snorkelling and sailing tour and we weren't disapointed. We had a mixed day weather wise but it didn't spoil the fun. The boat is stunning, with real character, and the crew obviously loved their jobs, which made the day even more perfect. The food... The crew members were fantastic. They knew what they were talking about. Langford reef was spectacular, I'd go there again any day. But here are the reasons why you shouldn't sign up to this trip. 1. On the back of the brochure it said each trip will take a maximum of 32 people. By my count on 30/12/2014, the ship... More

Dear David, It is with great disappointment that we read your review, although thank you for your kind comments about our crew. 1. The brochure clearly states 39 passengers on board the vessel (the ship is in marine survey for up to 70 persons), please re check the brochure before publicly making incorrect statements. The size of vessel and number... More

Picked this trip up last minute. And so glad we did. Very friendly crew, great boat and great refreshments / lunch. Snorkelling sites were good with plenty of turtles to swim with. Very happy.
