What better way to see the Whitsunday Islands than on a tall ship?! We had a very enjoyable time on board the Solway Lass. The crew were very friendly and kept us well informed on weather conditions, sailing route and possible choices in activities. The visit to Whitehaven Beach was undoubtedly the highlight of the trip, we had the beach... More

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our three days and nights aboard the Solway Lass. Aside from the stunning scenery, the crew of this ship deserve special mention. They have a great attitude, really friendly and extremely professional. In my view they go above and beyond what their boss expects. The food cooked for each meal was superb and plentiful.... More

Wonderful experience and we were very lucky with the weather as I would bot have liked to have been on the boat with 28 other people in the rain as you hang out on the deck all day. The boat is relaxing which we were told before we booked but I didn't think it was going to be as chilled.... More

I must agree with a few other reviewers: next time, I will choose a more luxurious boat. The boat is rather uncomfortable. During the day, you attempt to stay out of your bunk as much as possible (the bunk areas are VERY cramped -- to be expected on a sailboat -- and there's a bit of a smell down there;... More

We were not sure at first if this would be the best way of going to explore the islands but the 3 day trip exceeded our expectations by far. The ship is nice, the crew were all great, food prepared by Sarah was superb and the captain Tim gave good information on what we would do and where we had... More

The Solway Lass is a lovely ship. She has seen many years of use, in all kinds of conditions! Sailing in the Whitsundays is her latest venture, and a good one for her. We went on the three day/three night cruise. The crew was nice and most of them were fairly friendly. The First Mate was a bit of a... More

We took the three day cruise with 28 other passengers. The history of the Solway Lass, the capable and fun crew and beautiful sail among the islands makes the trip worthwhile. You will need to be tolerant, though, as the cabins are small and musty. The food was buffet style, not fancy but prepared well. Be forewarned about their booking... More

My boyfriend and I were on the Solway Lass for 3 days and 3 nights in October and man, I wish we could go back! The crew was fantastic (the captain had hilarious stories), the food was delicious, and the scenery could not have been better! A lot of individuals our age (early 20s) choose the more "rowdy" tours around... More
