I had a great time doing the half-day kayaking trip with Salty Dog. Effort was made to include everyone and cater to all abilities and interests, which was great. Fun route and just the right amount of time on the water. Guides seemed friendly and knowledgeable, and I felt safe and confident about what I was doing under their guidance... More

This was a fantastic trip you get picked up and dropped off at your accommodation which means it easy to do. The kayaks are perfect, they have single kayaks and double kayaks you can choose which one you want but it also depends on your ability. We kayaked for about an hour and a half to an island where we... More

We made the half day tour to one of the whitsunday islands. Before departing we got instructions and had some time to practice for those who haven't been kayaking before. On the way we looked for turtles and the bird life as we were crossing a lot of bays etc. The crew was friendly and helpful. On the island we... More

I went on this trip purely because I wanted to go snorkeling, which didn't happen. It sounded pretty cool that you kayak out to the snorkel spot/island, but on our particular trip - half way out to the island the lady called it off because it was apparently too windy and said let's kayak to some other random near-by island,... At the start of our three day solo tour, my wife bust her ankle slipping on wet rocks at the slipway. No fault at all of Salty Dog. Hayley (owner) was very helpful and transported us both to the hospital in Proserpine. She also gave us a lift back to the hostel and spent the whole day with us. I... More

It was fun. Snorkeling didn't work out well - couldn't see much. We went to a beach with the rockiest sand/pebbles ever. Definitely bring thongs with you (in your kayak) because it's super hard to walk on the beach (i.e painful) otherwise. Really liked that the owners of the place took photos of people whilst kayaking! And put them on... More

I am 55 and not super fit but not wimp either and I found this tour tough. To be fair I think it depends on the wind and current and we experienced some unusual conditions. The food was great. The snorkeling with stinger suits just beautiful. We stayed in some stunning locations. The people on the trip including the informative... More

This was a great trip. The weather was perfect. The equipment was very good and the arrangements and catering were spot on. The guide went out of his way to show us different sights and places which made the trip quite special. This was our second trip with Salty Dog and we would definately come back again.

Hi there Much as we enjoyed sea kayaking and the beautiful area and Hayley was very friendly and punctual, there were several aspects of the trip that were extremely disappointing....... 1. We were very clearly told at the office before we went NOT to take cameras as the guides would take photos and we could access these. There were no... More

My son and I had a great half day out with these guys! The staff were very friendly, helpful and professional and the area we kayaked around was beautiful. And I'd certainly echo all the other positives mentioned in the reviews on here.
