The beach at Palm Cove looks beautiful - lined with palms and melaleucas - and is lovely to stroll along. The water is, like most of the beaches in this area, very murky and I wouldn't want to swim there.

One of the nicest beaches in the Cairns region. Great food and relaxation options. Bars here are a bit expensive and shops are mostly catering to 50+ shoppers. But it's a nice beach and a good place to enjoy the water and outdoors cheaply in Cairns.

Had a good time at Palm Cove Beach, but if you really want to enjoy the beach, head around the point to Ellis Beach.

Beautiful views, no waves (great for myself and the kids). Very windy at times. Not many people swimming in the ocean (June) but we went in, water was warm. There's a park right on the beach too so kids can alternate. There is some shade from the trees. Kids loved playing in the sand. People there offering wake boarding and... More

Spent a day here on our vacation and loved it. When we were there we didn't see patrols or lifeguards because it was already winter, but it was a beautiful day and a great addition to our time in Australia. Would love to go back.

The views are amazing - Double Island and Scout's Hat are islands straight out - whilst windy during our stay it's a nice beach to walk along and enjoy. As good as Port Douglas has to offer at least with much better views.

Great beach, not too much swell, caters well for all kids, seems safe enough at thus time of year, and have all the facilities, shops, hotels pubs etc behind the beach. Easy to get to from cairns on the 110 bus.

We spent 12 days in Palm Cove during the Ironman with 2 young children. We loved it. Lovely beach, playground close, warm weather and good bus service. I did the 70.3 and found Palm Cove to be a great place to prepare as well as relax afterwards. I can see us coming back again for a third time!

Great beach. Quiet. PAtrolled so seems safe. Convenient to the city centre. Not much swell so good for kids. Overall a great beach if you are staying in Palm Cove. 4 mile beach in Port Douglas beach is better for kids - calmer, bigger and finer sand.
