Thin strip of course sand, with water very churned up by the wind when we were there, so did not look like the pictures. I am possibly also spoilt by the beaches in NSW and southern QLD. Patrolled and stinger nets up, but it was far more enticing to swim in the hotel pool. However, the beach and trees do... More

Nice quiet beach with accommodation and restaurants on the water front. Not far from Cairns and you could base your day trips from here if you had a car

We love Palm Cove merely because all the palm trees remind us of Fiji. It is lovely to watch the distant hills with the mist coming in, but is always windy and the water is always churned and looks creepy for a swim, and the sand is always soft, so not ideal for walking on.

The beach itself is nice and sandy. Mid-April was not the ideal time to go swimming due to the "stingers". We found out after we got there that we were in the jelly fish season. They do have a roped off area to swim but the water was not attractive to me to go in, kinda murky due to storms... More

Was a beautiful beach and the foreshore was well maintained with good amenities. Sadly was very windy, and still in stinger season, so no swimming for us.

I liked how clean and beautifully scenic Palm Cove was. Much nicer that the hustle and bustle of Cairns and our accommodation was very close.

The beach at Palm Cove is quite idyllic. Protected by the local SLSC a netted area is offered during stinger season. Also on offer for hire are boards canoes etc. A small playground is offered for the little ones. It can get windy so early mornings are best.

Had a safe spot for swimming at the beach. Where there is life guards with red and yellow flags. Their is so many wonderful shops very close to by to have lunch on the beach or a coffee or ice cream. It's a beach with has a play ground for the little ones as well as rocks and many shells... More

Absolutely beautiful!!! It is the quintessential tropical beach. It is easy to get to by taking the 110 public transit bus for a small price. Go early in the morning since later in the day the water gets muddy with the increasing winds. One draw back is that once you are there, walking on the beach is all you get.... More
