Description: Sea kayaking is one of the best ways to explore the coastline and islands...
Sea kayaking is one of the best ways to explore the coastline and islands of tropical north Queensland. We have amazing encounters with dolphins, turtles, stingrays and other marine life while paddling around history rich Double Island. Tours are offered year-round catering equally for those seeking a peaceful paddle or a bit of adventure. Our sunrise and half-day tours run daily. Paddling techniques and safety information are clearly explained and demonstrated. Our highly stable single and double, sit on top, kayaks are well suited for beginners to experienced kayakers. Each tour visits Double Island and includes fresh fruits, sweet treats and juices. Half-day tours include snorkelling. Tours depart south of the Palm Cove Jetty. Sunrise Tour 6am-7:30am $48 per person. Half-day Tour 8:30-12:30 Adults $88 Children $68 (plus $5 reef tax and insurance fee).

We had a great time out with Brad around Double Island for the morning. We had two double kayaks, which is the only way to go with a young family because you cover about 10km during the morning, which includes going into a cave and also exploring some of the island. The highlight was when we went snorkelling and a... More

I went out with Brad on an afternoon kayak tour about a month ago. He was quite happy to go with only one customer and I had a great time. He was very helpful, personable, pleasant and accommodating. He seems to really enjoy what he does and looks after the tourists very well with drinks and snacks. We saw lots... More

Showed up on spec at around 9:30am and had a brilliant time. Brad was super helpful, gave us great advise (e.g. that it was a long way, which Kayaks to take, where to watch out for rocks), for our family of five, and his partner Henry came out on a third Kayak with our own 9 year old Henry, to... I did the sunrise tour this morning & loved it. It was a great way to start the day. Our guide Brad was knowledgable about the flora & fauna of Double island & clearly has a passion for what he is doing. Worth the early start. Highly recommend it!

I took a 1/2 day kayaking and snorkelling tour. We paddled out to Double Island, stopped by a little cave, and had a snack before moving onto Scouts Hat for exploring, snorkelling and more snacks. We saw lots of turtles, some crabs and sea cucumbers. I thought Brad was extremely accommodating taking a booking for a solo tourist at short... More

Brad is such a likeable Aussie bloke. He met us obviously well prepared for our sunrise kayak. On the way to our light breakfast on the secluded beach of fruit, juice and cake-very nice- he regaled us with stories and interesting area insights... I loved his laid back very Australian manner and gentle sense of humour. Nothing was too much... More

We rented the kayak and went around Double island on our own as no tour were available. The owner/guide didn't really help when asking questions about do/donts around the area. We ended up blocked and scratched what turned out to be corals, and, we struggled to go back to the beach. The owner blamed it on us, made us pay... More

I booked the sunrise tour with Brad in July 2015. Surprisingly, I was the only one on the tour and he did not hesitate to take me out - even though he may have enjoyed a sleep-in more. The tour was great. Relaxing. Brad has plenty of stories about Double Island and surroundings. We didn't get the best weather, and... More
