A small zoo which is ideal for families. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the focus on Australian wildlife is perfect - especially when you come from Europe. The bird show is very good and informative and the opportunity to hold a koala was the highlight for my family. Very enjoyable.

We booked the Cairns Tropical Zoo Morning Tour including Breakfast. The breakfast was a bit "underwhelming" but we had so much fun with the visiting koala and his wonderful handler Dave that we totally didn't care about the average buffet breakfast. We spent the rest of the morning enjoying several interactive programs including the Free Flight Bird Show, The Exotic... More

Get here early to be a part of the Pelican feeding, take part in the kangaroo feeding. The zoo is a great place to watch some of the Australian native animals in their natural surrounding. The bird flight show is something else ! Watch out for the wedge tail eagle. Highly recommended .

A nice small zoo, but with a good selection animals, mostly native to Australia. You can see most of the zoo in a couple of hours. Feed some kangaroos, and watch the free flight bird show! Excellent. They have a small café in the property, although I found this to be a little expensive, to be honest. Other than that... More

My wife and I really enjoyed this relatively small zoo. We went there for a breakfast special event. Afterward, we each had an opportunity to hold a koala and have our photo with them. They are such amazing little creatures. This was one of the highlights of visiting Cairns. We also spent time with many kangaroos including a feeding session... More

While only being a small zoo, we were pleasantly surprised at the amount of animals and things to do. The enclosures were well maintained and the animals looked very happy. The staff were friendly and loved to answer any questions we had. Overall a great zoo and would recommend to others

Saw most of the native Australian animals - koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, crocodiles. In spite of the heat, the animals were fairly active. We were there in the afternoon and saw the marsupial talk, the crocodile feeding, and the bird show. All were very interesting. We were allowed to pet the koala's back - but there were only about 8... More

The zoo is comparatively small and a bit of a hike to get to (we didn't have a rental car and ended up taking the bus), but the experience of cuddling a koala and feeding tons of lounging kangaroos is priceless! Still can't get over how much koalas smell like eucalyptus :) Other than the Great Barrier Reef, we thought... More
