This is a small but enjoyable zoo! There's tons of great interaction with the animals, the presentations are very informative and made for a great day. The Zoo is north of Cairns and can be easily accessed by taking the bus (110 line). Make sure to buy a bag or two of kangaroo feed - it's definitely worth the experience... More

I have been to this attraction many times over the years and I have to say it's time for a bit of a capital injection to update the facilities. Animals and staff are great though.

When visiting Australia, one of my #1 goals was to see and hug a koala. This zoo provides this opportunity and many other up close wildlife viewing opportunities. The animals appeared well-cared for and the zookeepers were passionate about their jobs. Wildlife shows were available every hour, which I particularly loved, as I learned so much more than I would... More

There was a full range of Aussie critters on view. We thoroughly enjoy the bird show presented by a very knowledgeable young guy.

Great zoo which you can take your time in to walk around and explore. Feeding the Kangaroos especially was brilliant and standing so close to HUGE crocs in their enclosures was a bit thrilling. Myself, my Mum and 5 year old nephew went as a morning trip when it wasn't very busy which was nice. It's a big enough place... More

My husband and I booked the private tour where a keeper takes you around the zoo to feed and touch various animals (we were the only couple that day, so we got to feed lemurs, feed a cassowary, feed lorikeets, hold an alligator, hold a koala, hold a python, feed a crocodile, pet a wombat). It was one of the... More

What a great zoo. We did the zoo tactic 5 which I highly recommend. Held and played with snake, wombat, koala, baby alligator, our guide was great and had all the time In the world for us to enjoy all the animals.

Well set up, neat, clean and tidy. Variety of animal displays to suit all tastes with all the enclosures well set out and easy to navigate around. Really good for young children. Staff are helpful and right into their work with all sorts of wildlife, including the dangerous ones. Food available at reasonable prices.

Yep, big crocs and snakes which is exactly what you want i reckon. Good shows, decent tucker and not too crowded, even on school holidays.

Plenty of animals showing wide range of Aussie fauna. Great presentations well worth attending. The presenters and animals well worth the effort. Get there early to see the feeding and presentations of Birds and reptiles which are really good and educational as well as entertaining. Good for kids and adults alike.
