When my boyfriend came over to visit me in Australia we went to the zoo so he could see all the native Australian animals and we had a blast! The kangaroo feeding in the morning was a good start, and the bird-show, the koala/wombat-show and the crocodile feeding-show were all really fun as well and a nice way to learn... More

A tired zoo needing a lot of upgrading, the animal enclosures were dull and small which upset my family who are all animal enthusiasts. Animals appeared depressed. We were all quite disgusted by the opportunity to hold and have photos taken with the koalas which seemed to be a highlight for everyone else, very disappointing since we know how easily... More

Nice zoo, good that we can see many of the "Australia made" animals in one place. You can feed, pet and sit right next to Kangaroos, hug a Koala (you have to pay for it though), viewing a crocodile, fox and other reptiles as well. We took quite a bit of photos there. I do advise to go early, as... More

To be honest, we were just trying to kill some time prior to a flight out of Cairns and stumbled across the zoo. We weren't expecting much, as it didn't look great from the highway, but we were pleasantly surprised to find a great variety of animals, short lines, and relatively close proximity to some of thee great creatures. The... More

Being from the US, we wanted to see as many different types of Australian animals as we could without going all the way to Brisbane! We loved being able to see a Cassowary up close! The crocs were sleepy but impressive. We were happy to pay for the chance to hold a Koala, one of the best smiles from my... More

We've had an annual pass for the past 2 years and its worth the money every time! The zoo has been a perfect place to take my 5 year old any time we need something to do. The zoo itself is wonderful, with a wide range of animals in well looked after conditions. The habitats / enclosures are well looked... More

The children enjoyed the animals, as they have not had a close look at wild animals before, and they were delighted to see the kangaroos, and birds, so thank you Cairns Tropical Zoo for your kind hospitality, and friendly faces, we will be coming back very soon, as of next week.
