My husband and I booked the private tour where a keeper takes you around the zoo to feed and touch various animals (we were the only couple that day, so we got to feed lemurs, feed a cassowary, feed lorikeets, hold an alligator, hold a koala, hold a python, feed a crocodile, pet a wombat). It was one of the... More

What a great zoo. We did the zoo tactic 5 which I highly recommend. Held and played with snake, wombat, koala, baby alligator, our guide was great and had all the time In the world for us to enjoy all the animals.

Well set up, neat, clean and tidy. Variety of animal displays to suit all tastes with all the enclosures well set out and easy to navigate around. Really good for young children. Staff are helpful and right into their work with all sorts of wildlife, including the dangerous ones. Food available at reasonable prices.

Yep, big crocs and snakes which is exactly what you want i reckon. Good shows, decent tucker and not too crowded, even on school holidays.

Plenty of animals showing wide range of Aussie fauna. Great presentations well worth attending. The presenters and animals well worth the effort. Get there early to see the feeding and presentations of Birds and reptiles which are really good and educational as well as entertaining. Good for kids and adults alike.

This place is set up for photographers. Get a package that includes breakfast so you can get there first thing. You may see a baby Koala in the eating area! The fences/screens are as low as possible so you don't have to shoot through wires and you can use the walk-in aviaries to photograph the birds. Got my best shots... More

Had a great day out at the zoo, the bird show is awesome flying through the crowd, the roo feeding was my kids favourite, Crowds are not huge but get there for 8:30 opening the otter show is worth it.

Nice and quick for when you have young children you didn't have to spend a whole day there. They also have pass outs where you can return for the next two days if you missed any attractions. The only negative would be the koala cafe was pricy and didn't have a great selection of snacks.

As soon as I booked my trip to Australia, I already knew that I had to hold a koala. I read that it's illegal to hold a koala in NSW. So when I found out that I was going up to Queensland, and Cairns Tropical Zoo would let you cuddle one, I jumped at the opportunity. "Cuddle a koala" is... More

the friendliest zoo in Australia with live croc and birds shows, wombat and koalas. You get the feeling this is a large family and they are all well looked after. If you'd like to revisit, on the way out you get a stamp to visit again in the next two days. Here you can actually cuddle a Koala!
