Visited with my granddaughter. First the map was indecipherable. Then it was, where are the animals. Very few and wrong signage on enclosures. The crocodiles were in filthy ponds. Other exhibits has rancid smelling water too. Really bad mosquito problem. Have visited Billabong Sanctuary and they are far far better and value for money.

This zoo is fabulous for allowing you an up close experience with native wildlife. The bird show in particular is a must see. My daughter however was overwhelmed by her close encounter with a little wallaby named Marvin whom she was allowed to pet and feed as a special treat. All the staff are friendly and helpful which was lovely.... More

The Zoo is within walking distance of Palm Cove main street. Its a warm walk but a good way to walk off breakfast and the nite before as well. Good attraction with lots of talks and tours. Has a wedding chapel as well ........interesting .

Visited Cairns Tropical Zoo in January 2015. We got bus transfers to and from our accommodation. We paid for a special "Zootastic 5" experience, and that's exactly what we got!! We got a VIP tour around the site, got to hold several animals, ie; koala, snake, baby alligator, hand fed rainbow lorikeets, pole fed a crocodile, petted a wombat and... More

A visit to Cairns should include a visit out here. Especially if you want to hold a Koala. Depending on the territory you are in, this may or may not be possible. In Queensland, it is possible, and this zoo offers a purchase for pix with a koala, or snake, maybe even birds. There is a kangaroo corral, and feed... More

We are YoU + Me, my lovely Wife and I, had BEEN to there in 2011. We had a memorial time there. It was our first time to meet koala and kangaroo. We can feed the kangaroo freely and closely. All kangaroo don't fear human. For koala, we just can visit outside the cages. Of coz you can pay for... More

Fabulous day at Cairns Tropical Zoo with the family - well laid out, easy to navigate and plenty of up-close and personal experiences for us and the kids. Calm shady cafe to finish the day. Every staff member exceptional. Highlights included one of the staff picking up a turtle for us to pat, feeding the sleepy roos, and the spectacular... More

Well, it may not be fair to rank them "Average"... Let me put it in this way: if you are a foreigner with eagerness to meet coalas, kangaroos, crocodiles, wallabies... it is quite an experience. The staff have tried their best to present those Aussie icons, as well as to cater to your stomach (BBQ dinner, desserts, tea and damper,... More

Located close to Palm Cove, our family enjoyed see the Australian animals, especially the koalas, kangaroos, and crocs! The zoo offers many shows (i.e. reptiles, birds) throughout the day to watch and learn more about the animals. You can buy kangaroo food with your tickets, but unfortunately the kangaroos weren't hungry. The zoo is maintained well and you can tell... More

My boyfriend and I spent the entire day here! There are lots of paid extras to do for reasonable prices. We wanted to do the Big 5 experience but it was booked out (book this early if you want to do this!). So we just paid for the individual experiences we wanted to do. We both fed huge saltwater crocodiles... More
