Up close experience with Crocs and Koalas. Kids loved the Handling sessions and Photos. Was great to see that after the Paid photos and holding session they allowed Mums and Dads to also take the same photos with their own cameras. A bit more money needs to be spent on general maintenance issues and possibly a bit of a spruce... More

We come a few times a year for the kids to have a day out but find there isn't enough interactive programs for kids and the cafe is overpriced. Sad to see it aimed at the tourists... we just started to pack a picnic which in the end is lovely out on the greens and sometimes we have the wallabies... More

Value for money. Up close experiences, including a fun birds of prey presentation. $20 for photo holding a koala was worth it. Took a morning to visit. Was told it was small and not worth it. Don't believe it. Locals probably just want you to go to the expensive night zoo experience (which has bbq dinner and bush dance included). If... More

We enjoyed looking about at the usual animal displays. We caught the snake show which was fun and found the young chap who took the show very animated and interesting.

This zoo was great, walking through and being able to stroke and feed the kangaroos was so surreal, the animals had places they could go if they wanted to get away from the visitors which was great. We held Buster, the koala and had our picture taken. Staff were always around and happy to answer questions :)

We hired a car for a few days whilst in Cairns and decided to take a trip to this Zoo. It was very easy to find, well sign posted and ample car parking. As we were on our honeymoon, my wife and I decided to splash out on the Zootastic experience. Whilst it's not cheap, I would say it's definitely... More

Not a great zoo. The enclosures are small and the animals all seemed a little sad. After going to the Australia Zoo in Brisbane this was disappointing.

We decided to spend day here so elderly mother of 96, daughter 62, friend 38 & her son 4. This zoo catered for us all. It is shady so no searching for spots to stand, the animals look well cared for & in natural habitat. Cafe is pricey & only place I would mark down as service was not with... More

Enjoyed a visit to Cairns Tropical Zoo (not actually in Cairns, but up the coast near Clifton Beach/Palm Cove). The main attractions are a large number of crocs, koalas, and wombats (one of the few zoos with both Common and Hairy-Nosed wombats on exhibit). There are also many other animals, not only Australians such as dingoes and 'roos but also... More

This is a lovely low key Zoo experience, laid back and relaxed. The bird show is fantastic and feeding the kangaroos is a real treat. You don't need to have kids with you to enjoy it. Well worth a visit.
