A lovely 'smaller' park with lots of opportunities for the kids to get up close and personal with the wildlife. Plenty to see and do and the flight birds talk and crocodile talks were very informative and well presented. The snake talk on the day we went was very disappointing. It was difficult to hear and a lot of the... More

The best place to get close to Australian animals -- yes, better than Sydney zoo! If you want to feed a kangaroo or pet a nice, friendly koala in a friendly, informal setting -- this is the place. Lots of koalas (that are active within meters from you -- not at a distance), kangaroos and wallaby pretty much roam the... More

For $34 per adult we expected to see a wider variety of animals. Very disappointed in this tiny zoo for the money.

We went for the sole reason that we wanted to cuddle a koala, but enjoyed seeing the rest of the zoo as well. It's more hands on than other zoos as you get to go into some of the exhibits, like the kangaroos which you can buy food to feed. Lots of koalas which were adorable and well looked after.... More

We have visited several Aust wild life attractions. This is the best we have seen with large enclosed structures from which to get up close to Australias amazing wildlife.. Several entertaining sessions a day with Crocs, Birds & Snakes. Also other less known extraordinary reptiles. Definitely a must see when in Cairns

This is a very nice and well maintained zoo. We saw all the animals you had to see in Australia - koala, kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, and my favorite pelicans!! Comparing this zoo with the zoos in Sydney and Sunshine Coast, this one is less touristic and less commercial. There is a nice koala cafe which you can eat and watch... More

This zoo was wonderful! There are great animal interactions you can have, as well as a great variety of animals on exhibit. They have a fantastic bird show & snake show. In one of the walk-thru aviaries, one of the parrots actually came over to say hi. I was a little worried at first since parrots can also rip your... More

Its a relatively small zoo with a collection of mainly Australian iconic animals with a few exotics thrown in. Go early, have a hearty (well priced) breakfast between the feeding and learning events in their morning program - learn about and feed wallabies, free flight bird show, reptilles, have photos taken with Koala etc. Have a leisurely lunch then stay... How can you pass up an opportunity to cuddle a koala? This is a very cool experience. The "zoo" isn't huge, and doesn't have a ton of animals, but is so very worth it just for the koalas.
