Owner description: Aviair (previously Slingair) was established in 1984 and has grown to become the first choice for scenic air tours of the magnificently beautiful Kimberley region of Western Australia. With over 30 years' experience in remote outback aircraft operations, our personalised service will ensure your fixed wing scenic air tour, charter flight, or air transfer are completed in comfort and style. Our tailored air safaris and fly drive tours showcase famous Kimberley attractions, including the Bungle Bungles in the World Heritage listed Purnululu National Park, Lake Argyle, Mitchell Falls, King George Falls and the Argyle Diamond Mine. Aviair solely operates the Cessna 208 Caravan, which it introduced into the Kimberley in 1994. The Cessna 208 Caravan is a turbo prop, fully air-conditioned, high wing, PA equipped aircraft. The aircraft offers a centre aisle, greater legroom and headroom than any other scenic flight aircraft in the Kimberley. In addition the safety and reliability record of this aircraft type is one of the highest in its class, thereby maximising passenger safety and comfort. Aviair is proud to operate the youngest fleet of scenic tour aircraft in the Kimberley. In addition to charters, tours and remote transfers, Aviair is also a fundamental bridge between remote communities and larger towns. Aviair also provide freight transport, mining support, survey, search and rescue, emergency extraction, and mail services to remote communities. Aviair is a subsidiary of the Aviator Group, a general aviation specialist with operations around Australia. Aviair operates 8 Cessna 208 Caravan turbo prop aircraft each with a 10 to 13 passenger seat capacity. The company's head office is in Kununurra with a base in Broome. Aviair offer 8 air safari tour options of which 6 include spectacular views of the Bungle Bungles; all provided by young Cessna 208 Caravan turbo prop aircraft. You can also combine a scenic air safari with a ground tour and helicopter flight. Aviair offers a comprehensive program that includes stunning views of Lake Argyle, the Argyle Diamond Mine (may include a ground tour); Kununurra Icons; Kimberley Panorama flight which takes you over the famous King George Falls and the spectacular Mitchell Falls. Aviair has experiences to suit any time frame and budget.

No better way to start the day than with a flight over Lake Argyle and the Bungle Bungles. From the moment I contacted their reservation office until I disembarked the plane, the customer service provided by everyone was excellent. And as for the views, they were superb! The plane Aviair use is a little larger than it's competitors making it... More

A great flight over Lake Argyle on to the Bungle Bungles and back via the Argyle diamond mine. Up early but worth the effort as a clear view of all there is to see. You see so much from the air. If in the region a must see.

I agree with the comments below that the views from the plane are only good if seated on the right of each row. We had the impression that all the good seats were for those in tour groups, presumably because Aviair had long standing relationships with those tour operators. For those who are not in organised tours you'd be best... More

Dear Mick, Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with your flight and your feedback mirrors that of your traveling companion in the review posted earlier to yours. We're surprised that you didn't enjoy the same views that other customers enjoyed on the same flight. Particularly as our aircraft flight path manoeuvrers to ensure... More

Be aware that there are many options for helicopter and aeroplane flights around Purnululu. Our flight with Aviair was well run and the plane was piloted by a friendly and knowledgeable pilot. What they didn't tell us however is that the views overwhelmingly favour those on the right hand side of the plane. This was because of the design of... More

Dear Danyman, Thanks for your review. We’re disappointed to hear your feedback and have carried out a thorough review to learn how we may have let you down. Our findings are as follows. We’ve reviewed all of our short customer service questionnaires completed by most customers after their return from an Aviair scenic tour and we have located the survey... More

Amazing scenery from the air I just wished the passengers changed seats on the return flight to give us a different view, from where I sat on the left side I saw mostly the edges of the Lake Argyle and the Bungle Bungles, the right side got more of the central views. The walk to the domes and lunch at... More

Hi Esther, Thanks you for providing your feedback. We're glad that the Cathedral Gorge walk proved an unforgettable experience. As to the seating, we have taken your comments on board. From the moment we were picked , to the end of an inspiring day, the experience and service from all the crew was outstanding. The flights to and fro were memorable, the attention to detail was brilliant. My Wife and I are more than keen to return. Thanks again Team. Sarge.

Absolutely fabulous! We were all very excited leading up to this flight, esp the kids (5 & 8 yo) and the experience did not disappoint. We opted for the 42min 'Long Look' flight and I'm so pleased we did. Our pilot Cameron was friendly and informative, there was a good safety briefing from the ground staff and the Bungle Bungle... Can only say our flight over the bungle bugles was nothing short of amazing and a real education about a really amazing part of this land. Tom the pilot was an absolute gentleman and his commentary really made the trip what it was. Nothing negative to say at all and we're still buzzing.

Although a different airline turned out to be my transfer from Kununurra to/from Purnululu NP in early May, 2014, while there on the first afternoon I did take the 30-minute helicoptor flight over the Bungles. And a few days later I took Slingair's full-day flight north to see both the King George and Mitchell Falls. We landed and had lunch... More
