Lake Argyle was created in 1971, by damming the mighty Ord River, forming a storage reservoir to supply one of this country's largest and most ambitious irrigation schemes. What was once "Argyle Downs", a million acre cattle station, is now an immense body of water amid a largely untamed and rugged wildernessin the remote East Kimberley region of Western Australia. Aptly named "Lake Argyle", this majestic waterway can at times encompass an area of more than 2000km2, a volume equivalent to 54 Sydney Harbours. With its ever changing moods and landscapes it has developedinto a unique eco system, home to an amazing array of wildlife. There is no better way to capture all of this outstanding beauty than to take a cruise with Lake Argyle Cruises. We offer a selection of tours catering for the individual traveller as well as large tour groups. Specialisedcharters such as bird watching, bush walking and exploration can be arranged with prior notice.

There are two cruises. One orange and flash looking the other smaller and alloy. Pick the smaller one. We had a fantastic time with Paul picking us up from the caravan park and Greg taking us out. Greg was very informative about the whole area. My husband is a smoker and Greg accommodated this with a stop. You can also... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our sunset cruise. Tracey and Mel were excellent guides. We enjoyed afternoon tea as well as cheese, dip and crackers with a wine and beer. People enjoyed a swim in the lake while we sat in the middle of the lake watching the sunset on the magnificent Mountains which surround the lake. Loved the DVD introduction to... More

Had an awesome afternoon with Captain Jack and Josh - The Kiwi. They both really knew their stuff and looked after everyone with great care. It was a very informative and relaxing way to spend the afternoon. Thank you. We really recommend to all.

I hired a kayak for the day, then took the sunset cruise. I was absloutly blown away by how welcome i was made feel. The cruise was informative and came with nibbles and beer/champagne! Smaller boat meant i really felt part of the sourrondings. Cannot recommend strongly enough

Lake Argyle Cruises are located just behind the caravan site (who we booked through). My partner and I rented a two-person kayak and paddled around part of Lake Argyle which is absolutely stunning. It was a great way to go exploring and we spotted a freshie in the water and wallabies on the small island in the middle! There were... More

Try the Sunset boat cruise. We were driving around and just happened to see his sign on side of road and decided that we would see if there were any available seats. This was the absolute best decision we made. Couldn't have asked for more. Matt was amazing with his knowledge of the local area and history of the Lake.... More
