Lake Argyle was created in 1971, by damming the mighty Ord River, forming a storage reservoir to supply one of this country's largest and most ambitious irrigation schemes. What was once "Argyle Downs", a million acre cattle station, is now an immense body of water amid a largely untamed and rugged wildernessin the remote East Kimberley region of Western Australia. Aptly named "Lake Argyle", this majestic waterway can at times encompass an area of more than 2000km2, a volume equivalent to 54 Sydney Harbours. With its ever changing moods and landscapes it has developedinto a unique eco system, home to an amazing array of wildlife. There is no better way to capture all of this outstanding beauty than to take a cruise with Lake Argyle Cruises. We offer a selection of tours catering for the individual traveller as well as large tour groups. Specialisedcharters such as bird watching, bush walking and exploration can be arranged with prior notice.

We highly recomend a cruise across Lake Argyle. Comfortable cruise, informative staff, amazing photo opportunities. We took this cruise with our families (5 grandchildren) who had a great time. The cruise company has many cruises to pick from we took the lunch time cruise which provided a BBQ lunch cooked on board (great fresh food).

I cannot explain how amazingly breathtaking this is! You simply cannot get the views, the beauty and the energy anywhere else. We swam under waterfalls and in the great expanse of water. Greg is an amazing tour guide. He effortlessly shares his knowledge and holds a captive audience. This guy knows his stuff!!! Plus, he gives a cheeky drink and... More

Fantastic sunset cruise with Greg, beautiful scenery and waterfalls. Was great to see the rock wallabies and baby crocodiles. Loved swimming under the waterfall and "out in the middle" with water like glass and unbelievable colors on the surrounding hills.

My wife took some advice from a work friend and booked us on this tour. Initially I thought it would be a 'bum on seat don't move for an hour' type tour but I couldn't have been more wrong. Excellent guide, beautiful views, great swim, awesome photo opportunities. If you get the chance to go- do it. We will be... More

Really enjoyed the knowledge Greg shared on the tour in a beautiful setting. Great tour with plenty of crocs, fish that spit in your face, swimming, diving and swimming in the water watching the sunset with alcohol and nibbles provided. We were picked up in kununurra and dropped off as well. Will do this again. Thanks Greg.

The tour operator was excellent. He was knowledgeable and friendly. In the end the two of us were the only people who turned up. We expected he may have cancelled the tour and were so pleased he didn't. It ended up a romantic sunset tour for two. The boat has seating for 40 and is covered so people don't get... More

Greg was friendly but professional and very knowledgeable about the lake and surrounding area. The scenery was breathtaking. They also sell the best plain and decorated zebra rock in town! This cruise is excellent value for money. Kids were also made to feel welcome and provided for. Just remember to slip, slop, slap and take your bathers!!

I thought we would just be going on a boat ride around the Lake just taking in the scenery, but was pleasantly surprised but all the little extras. Myself and my 2 daughters aged 21 and 11 thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you

This is an excellent cruise, and speeding across the lake with the cool breeze was sooo exhilarating. Greg was the captain, and had great knowledge of the lake and area as he has owned the company for many years so knows his stuff. He even has trained the wildlife to come to the boat for feeding. The sunset was good,... More
