Lake Argyle was created in 1971, by damming the mighty Ord River, forming a storage reservoir to supply one of this country's largest and most ambitious irrigation schemes. What was once "Argyle Downs", a million acre cattle station, is now an immense body of water amid a largely untamed and rugged wildernessin the remote East Kimberley region of Western Australia. Aptly named "Lake Argyle", this majestic waterway can at times encompass an area of more than 2000km2, a volume equivalent to 54 Sydney Harbours. With its ever changing moods and landscapes it has developedinto a unique eco system, home to an amazing array of wildlife. There is no better way to capture all of this outstanding beauty than to take a cruise with Lake Argyle Cruises. We offer a selection of tours catering for the individual traveller as well as large tour groups. Specialisedcharters such as bird watching, bush walking and exploration can be arranged with prior notice.

This consisted of 2 cruises. The first cruise on Lake Argyle offering morning tea and lunch. Lunch was on an island in Lake Argyle. A BBQ with fish, cold meats and lots of salds with beer, wine and soft drinks plus tea, coffee and water. The second cruise on the Ord River offered afternoon tea along the bank of the... More

The concept is good , but..an extra staff member to supervise would be good children , throwing cans of beer to guests amongst children???serious OHS issues, nibbles on the water??? Wet and soggy ..better enjoyed on return cruise during sunset. But commentary was good an informative.

Went on the sunset cruise with Greg our skipper and tour guide. He was a wealth of knowledge. Very informative. Such a beautiful lake. The highlight of the tour was the sunset swim and drink. Would definately recommend getting out on the lake to appreciate its size.

Went on the sunset cruise today with Matt our skipper/tour guide. We would recommend this rather than the larger boat from the opposition. We had a fantastic time with the best commentary was very informative. Great way to see the lake.

There are two cruises. One orange and flash looking the other smaller and alloy. Pick the smaller one. We had a fantastic time with Paul picking us up from the caravan park and Greg taking us out. Greg was very informative about the whole area. My husband is a smoker and Greg accommodated this with a stop. You can also... More

I hired a kayak for the day, then took the sunset cruise. I was absloutly blown away by how welcome i was made feel. The cruise was informative and came with nibbles and beer/champagne! Smaller boat meant i really felt part of the sourrondings. Cannot recommend strongly enough

For a 4 hour sunset cruise including nibbles and drinks for $90. Our skipper was Tracey who was amazing (captain amazing) very friendly and has a vast knowledge of the lake, wildlife and history.
