Nice shops for tourists and locals alike. We visited the historical sites along the way. The July cold kept us from sitting outside, but determined Kiwis enjoyed the cafe and restaurants heated patios for lunch. Arrowtown has an interesting history and has taken care to preserve it. Morning runs have offered me great mountain vistas while running through the picturesque... More

A stunningly pretty town with so much history. A must do visit if on South Island. Museums to visit but worth just ambling along the quaint streets and imagining how it must have been during the 'gold rush'.

If you want to get a glimpse of a town set as old village, this is a must visit attraction near Queenstown. Beautiful scenery at the bank of the river. Don't miss the museum, which gives a dive into the olden days. Depending on the time of the year, the streets might have a very colorful setting due to the... More

Walking along the main street is a bit crowded and boring. But walking along the river will give you completely different feeling, beautiful and peaceful, specially in Autumn with golden leaves.

We visited Arrowtown today from Queenstown, the historic shops and buildings in the main street are lovely. The sweet shop was especially good. We walked down to the Arrow River to see the Chinese Goldminers settlement, we really enjoyed it and though it was very well signposted along the way. Definitely worth the trip I would recommend.

We went to Arrowtown when we were on our honeymoon in April 2008 (not date stated below). We found it to be a lovely old fashioned town and quite quaint. I tell everyone about it. Love the little houses. Worth a visit.

Chilli streets, so dress warm with a coat, scarf and woolie hat. The scenery is beautiful, we enjoyed a nice meal and coffee in a warm pub with a fire place, you have to walk down the hill near the gold panning shop to find it and coffee shops are warm too. Loved shopping but things are expensive so take... More

Have visited a few times over the years and ways look forward to a return visit.. It hardly ever changes...it always offers a beautiful setting and range of charming shops, cafes, restaurants, gallery's and museums. Wandering the tree lined streets and the stream behind the Main Street are always on the agenda! Stayed for 3 nights in a cute B&B... More

Peaceful town, take a walk around. Not much to do around the area. Grab a coffee during winter and take a walk :)
