We visited Ngatarawa on a perfect Hawkes Bay afternoon. The entrance to the winery up the long tree lined drive was very impressive. The winery tasting room is set in an historic stables and is very cool. The staff were super friendly and helpful (and even complimented my wife on the new wallet I bought her for Christmas, which earned... More

This was the 4th winery we visited in Napier today and we arrived as a large group had just started their tasting. We were asked to wait until they were finished so we could have a separate, quieter tasting-which we more than happily obliged. Approx 15 minutes later, the group left and the man running the tastings was very apologetic... More

We really enjoyed our visit to this winery, the third of four on a winery tour. It is housed in a former stable. Some of their wines bear the Stables brand name in local grocery stores. The wine tasting was very enjoyable and we had a snack afterwards in their olive grove.

We revisited the Ngatarawa Winery recently and enjoyed this winery as much as we had in the past. Unfortunately the weather was poorly this time around so we were unable to enjoy the nice mirror pool and grounds outside the wine tasting room this time around. However, the wines were just as nice as we had remembered. We again found... More

This winery is absolutely gorgeous, the grounds are incredibly stunning and are steeped in history. the young man working at the cellar down was from South America and was fabulous. Full selection of wines to try which was great. Love that they have differing levels e.g. Stables. The dessert wine was lovely and I couldn't resist buying a bottle.

This was a favourite place of my dad who passed away 16+ years ago. The merlot is a favourite wine on our dinner table frequently. I have watched the development of the Stables into a tourist destination over the years, and am proud to support them and recommend the winery to visitors.

Went to this winery as part of a wine tour of the area. Their Chenin Blanc and their Sauvignon Blanc are great and award winners. Very knowledgable , their argentinian guy behind the wine tasting was excellent about wines. Their surroundings are so breath taking. The dog at the property, Raj was friendly. Finished buying three bottles, which I enjoyed... More

Stopped here on a biking tour, was just closing up but was happy to let us have a tasting. Great wines, many offered in the tasting (free of charge) and lots of info about the site and the business on posters around the cellar door. Worth a visit, and some very reasonably priced and tasty wines available to buy. Great... More
