Description: We welcome visitors to our cellar door, located at the winery in the heart...
We welcome visitors to our cellar door, located at the winery in the heart of the Gimblett Gravels wine region. Originally a working part of the winery, the cellar door is an impressive space with 5 metre-high ceilings and a great view of our white barrel hall through a huge sliding glass door. Here you can purchase from our full range of award winning wines and a wide selection is open for tasting. You can even pick up a bottle or two of something special – wines only retailed through the cellar door – or take home a souvenir of your visit from our quality branded merchandise. Our lovely gardens and expansive lawn make the perfect spot to enjoy a picnic – you can make up your own platter from our selection of delicious produce. In the summer we often have live music and hot food available at weekends, just check the events section of our website. The cellar door team are a knowledgeable and friendly bunch who will guide you through our wines and answer your questions. They might even have a bottle of something “not on the list” for you to try, especially at weekends. In the summer(October – Easter), we are open 7 days a week for sales and tasting (except Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and Good Friday 10.00am – 5.00pmWinter (After Easter – September) we're open Wednesday through Saturday 11.00am – 4.00pm We do ask that larger groups, mini-bus groups and tours book in with us in advance. Tasting charges apply.

This winery is located in an area of Hawke's Bay that has been given the Gimblett Gravels appellation designation. This was explained to us at great length by our host and we came away with a wealth of information on the various wines that they produce. We tasted four wines and one fortified wine. The tasting area is well laid... More

We've visited a few vineyards whilst in Hawke's Bay and many aren't too interested in their visitors but the guy who conducted our wine today was most hospitable and we'll certainly be seeking out their unique Touriga port like red wine back in the UK

We booked a tour of Hawkes Bay wineries with Grape Escapes and this vineyard was the highlight of the trip. The sommelier at the previous vineyard had given us a very rushed tasting session so it was great to meet the curteous and knowledgeable Dominic, and have a relaxed session with time to properly taste the wine. He is undertaking... More

I really enjoyed my time at Trinity Hill winery. The staff member working was wonderful. The wines they had open were good but I was disappointed with the range available to try. I'm not a red drinker normally and I ended up walking away with bottle of there Port styled red wine, absolutely beautiful.

Hi Biely08. First of all, sorry for the very delayed reply! Thank you for taking the time to visit Trinity Hill in August last year. I'm sorry that you found our range of tasting wines to be too small. We usually offer between 6-8 wines on any given day with most of the wines from our Premium Gimblett Gravels range... More

Did not like any of their wines and the winery has lost its soul. Used to have a lovely gift shop also but nothing left now but acidic wines such a shame

Some of NZ's top wines presented in fine style by knowledgeable people. SYRAH is outstanding! We were fortunate to be offered the 09 Homage on tasting. Power & finesse. Our highest recommendations for quality & value on the Gimblett Gravels appellation. Our thanks to Trinity Hill management & staff.

A stroke of bike-related bad luck came with a stroke of very good luck. When our rubbish hire bikes ground to a flat halt, the silver lining was that it happened just at the winery that was top of my list anyway. The lovely ladies hosting the tasting soothed our frazzled nerves with charming conversation and top-notch tempranillo. They even... More

We went here as part of a group on a cycle tour and to be fair, some members of our group were rowdy so the two ladies working at the cellar door had a bit of a short fuse due to this. However, my partner and I were very interested in the wines and have visited many wineries around NZ... More

Dear Sheridan2808, Thank you for your feedback and we're as disappointed as you are that the experience was anything less than excellent ! As you pointed out, working with a large rowdy group (in an already busy Cellar Door) can be challenging for all involved. Unfortunately we took our eye off the ball with you and your partner due to... More
