Nice historic house to visit

Very interesting old building to visit. It's run by volunteers I think and they are very knowledgeable .

This was a good place to visit, the heritage has been nicely preserved and not too costly to enter. You need to take cash as there is no eftpos facilities for the entry fee. You can either go in the house alone or take a guide with you.

We were sorry to find the house was closed on the only day we had in Nelson, but enjoyed the exterior views and the grounds with their shapely old trees. Obviously the wrong season for roses, but despite the snow on the hills, there were still enough hardy blooms to see what a beautiful place this must be when in... More

Broadgreen historic house is a lovely little house that has a guide if you have any questions. The rose garden is massive and well kept. We have spent a lot of time lying on the grass relaxing with the smell of roses on the breeze. A must for garden lovers

The setting for this site is lovely, especially the rose gardens. The house is well presented, depicting a life style in rooms, displays and audio. This attraction is close to the WOW Museum and is a nice added stop.

We are so pleased we found this place, the entrance fee was only $4 an adult and the place was full of interesting historical things. The story of the family made foe great reading and the lady who showed us in and got us started was so welcoming. after going through the house we then went for a walk in... More

I'm so pleased that we visited this lovely home. I'd recommend it to all, it's not a lengthy visit but well worth it. It's history is fascinating & being able to wander about from room to room seeing how they really lived in yesteryear was a treat. Beverley, our guide gave us an illuminating & personal insight into the family... More

This place is unfortunately not on most tourist's list when visiting Nelson, NZ. The historic house is on scenic grounds but its primary feature is a world class rose garden tended by a number of professional people. it is not to be missed.

This historic house is a must visit. The house is beautifully presented and the entrance fee is ridiculously cheap. The gardens around the house are filled with rose bushes of every hue. Amazing place. If you need to chose between Isel house and here, this would be our first choice.

This is a heritage house (mid 19th century) with period decorations and furnishings, most of which are original. Our guide was very friendly, showed us around and told us about the house, its history and anecdotes about the family who built it. Well worth a visit, and inexpensive. There is an amazing rose garden outside.
