We walked from the car park and it took 10 minutes. You can access them from here or pay $2 and walk down the boardwalk from the cafe. It was a cloudy day but the boulders were interesting although the bright colours particularly inside the broken ones were quite muted. They look like giant marbles and are most impressive at... There is a nice walk from Moeraki village to the boulders, it is about an hour return walking. You begin by following a good track from the village and then you come out onto the beach. There are baby boulders on the beach and some you can see up in the clay cliff along the way and some that have... More

Don't spend $2 via the coffee shop, head down to the free end of the beach and walk for ten mins, best at mid/ low tide

You can only see these and walk around them at low tide. If you're going stay over to see them the next day, look at staying at Moeraki Boulders Kiwi Holiday Park.

A pleasant beach walk among unusual rock formations. There were many tourists there when we went (just off a big tour bus)

Well worth a visit to see these boulders on the beach. Never seen anything quite like them. Nice cafe to get a coffee and cake too.
