What better way to see Hervey Bay than to walk or cycle along the Esplanade, It stretches for miles along the coast. This time of the year (May) you will be delighted with the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Occasionally you will spot dolphins playing close to the shoreline. There are lots of coffee houses to stop at, cafes, and naturally... More

Visitors enjoy the views on the Esplanade but the so called dead shrubs were native grasses that held the dunes and prevented wave and wind erosion. Yes the playgrounds are great but the main path has been there for more than 20 years. I am an out of town resident concerned that the beautification will be threatened but the next... More

The Esplanade of Hervey Bay is one of the easest places to park...all free too. There are numerous eating outlets....enough to satisfy varying tastes, great coffee shops including two very popular ones right on the beachfront, a French bakery and grocery stores. There are shops for ladies and men and some touristy trinket shops for all ages. In otherwords you... More

I spent four dsys in hervery bay. My hotel was on the esplanade. Its great for walks. Riding bikes. They even have a section where you can do sit ups. Push ups. Gym equipment for chest and arm exercise. There heaps of barbecue/picnic spots for gatherings then theres access straight to the beach after lunch. Great spot.

The Esplanade within Hervey Bay and the surrounding area, is great for walks or bike riding along the foreshore. There are plenty of interesting shops along this strip as well as plenty of choices for dining in the many and varied restaurants and cafes. There is plenty of BBQ and picnic areas along the beach side as well.

Really enjoyed our early morning walks along the Esplanade by the bay. Although the path may be a little narrow in parts, we had no problem navigating our way along 6 klms of it's length.

Since being rejuvenated the Esplanade has plenty of tables , chairs and BBQ s. With the new lawned areas and exercise facilities, including a great walk and cycle way. A great area to enjoy.

The best way to see the esplanade is to hire a bike and pedal as far or short as you like. We made it from the Marina to Scarness with stops for coffee and lunch. Brilliant way to see the township and great views across the bay to Fraser Island. Make sure you cycle the Wharf.
