I traveled with Tasman Venture in October a couple of years ago and can echo the previous review. While you certainly will encounter whales, the likelihood of rough sea is quite common. I spent almost the entire trip in the lounge with sea sickness and didn't see the whales at all. The caveat here is that they will go out... more

This whale watching excursion on the Tasman venture is just excellent. Important to go between July and October for best viewing. The whales come in to Hervey Bay to rest on their journey from the north back to Antartica to the feeding grounds. they are relaxed and playful and because the bay is relatively shallow, the whales are very visible... more

Our family decided to go with the Tasman Venture cruises to experience whales in Hervey Bay.
