If you don't like smallish boats and sharing a pitchy deck with crazy birdos, then this isn't for you. If you do like taking a single photo and having 5 species of albatross, giant petrels and a couple of Cape Petrels in it, then this is heaven. You don't have to take photos, of course, but that gives you an... More

Gigantic and magnificent birds so close, I've never been this close to a wandering albatross before, great experience. There were so many different kinds, the Royal, the southern, the northern, plus Great Petrels, I lost count and forget half the names. Names don't matter when you're so close to these beautiful wild creatures. Even got a glimpse of Dusky dolphins... More

The trip takes you far out into the bay, stopping for seabirds and sea mammals of interest on the way. Then the engines are stopped, a bag of liver attached to the boat by a rope and the seabirds begin to gather. The tour guide was friendly, knowledgable and informative. I had hoped to see some of the larger seabirds... More

No doubt this is the trip to take if you want to see pelagic birds off the coast of Kaikoura. With the mountains in the background and the birds used to taking advantage of the chummed fish in the basket, you'll get great views of birds on the water and on the wing - don't forget to bring your camera.... This is one of those tours that can't be captured in a photograph. Id seen the photos and vids prior to the tour, but when you see the different albatrosses so super close from the boat... they are magnificent. It's an experience to see such big birds. We're not bird nerds at all but were very happy we chose this... More

The trip lived up to my expectations, I am a bird watcher and managed to everything I expected and more. Our guide was friendly and informative and had good knowledge of the birds, we even managed to see the rare Hutton's Shearwater and Dusky Dolphins. The booking office has a shop and really good cafe Don't forget to bring your... More

Really enjoyed this trip although the sea was very choppy. We were warned about the sea conditions before we went so this was fine and it allowed us to take motion sickness pills. The guide was very knowledgeable and seemed to really care about the welfare of the birds too. The company looks to be attuned to Eco which is... More

This was an amazing trip. Tracy our guide and skipper was amazing. She pointed out all the different birds and explained the different field marks for identification. The birds were baited in allowing for easy identification and great photo opportunities. We had some Hump Back whales surface fairly close to our boat and although, we could not approach them because... More
