While you are in New Zealand head for Kaikoura and go whale watching....by aeroplane! It's the best way to view whales, dolphins and mountains while in New ZealandIn a typical 30 minute flight you will see the majestic Sperm Whale preparing for his next dive and up to 500 Dusky Dolphins playfully swimming. Occasional sightings include Southern Right, Humpback, Fin, Sei, Brydes, Pilot, Southern Bottlenose and Blue Whales. Other, less frequent, visitors to the area include Common, Hectors, Risso's and Southern Right Whale Dolphins, and Orca.

Our family had a great outing with them. They were very professional, the equipment seems good, and they even took up a bigger plane than they needed to so that everyone could get an optimal view from their seats. We actually got surprised by bad weather and didn't see whales, so they gave us a refund; that's not their regular... More

I first found it a little bit expensive so I made it through a "combo" (Horrible Whale watch, Amazing Dolphin swimming and Wonderful Wings over whales !). When I arrived there, I immediatly felt comfortable as my girlfriend and I where the only persons to fly so we were only 2 (+ the pilot) in the plane. That's a 30... More

This was such an amazing and worthwhile experience, definitely the best excursion I have had in my 6 months in NZ. The staff and crew are friendly and welcoming and give you some great info on the marine life in the area including what you might expect to see and why whales can be found in Kaikoura. I was fortunate... More

Friendly operation in small comfortable plane. Great views of the whales and dolphins. Well worth the price .Much quicker than by boat and better observation.

John was the pilot for the day. We booked our flight at 11u00 and we had to be there 15 minutes prior to have the explanation and safety instruction. The best thing of flying vs by boat it's only 30 minutes and almost every day it's possible to fly. The day we went the boat was cancelled due to weather.... More

It sounds obvious but seeing Kaikoura's sperm whales from above gives you a very different perspective from seeing them from the boat. The boat guide paints a very vivid picture of the size of a male whale but tail floukes apart you don't really see a very big percentage of it sticking out of the water. From above you can... More

We just today had a 30 minutes whale watch flight. They're very knowledgeable, know when and where the whale will be seen. So we had been the first before the boats and the helicopter arrived. The pilot did a very good job - saw much more than with the much more expensive helicopter tour 5 years ago. In addition you're... More

Book with confidence, these guys are real professionals. It is a nature experience, so they can't guarantee you will see whales, so keep that knowledge in mind. It's a big ocean and weather can play a role. I would recommend them if you are in the area.

The advertisement for this quotes a 95% chance of seeing a sperm whale and many other species of cetaceans, etc. We booked for the time of year most likely to see these and were a bit surprised on arriving at the airport, to hear the pilot speak about the likelihood of seeing a whale (note the singular) - if he... Our children bought us this flight for whale watching for a Christmas present. The first day I booked unfortunately the weather was too gusty for the plane to take off safely so we returned the next day and were rewarded with the sight of a magnificent huge whale. Regrettably we were unable to spot any dolphins or other sea life... More
