This is an amazing way to get up close to dolphins in the wild. Unlike swimming with dolphins in captivity, you can't touch them (and there are no ethical issues), but the thrill of a chance encounter in the wild more than makes up for it. Of course, they are wild animals, and it's an ocean experience, so it depends... More

Swimming with the dolphins was the most amazing experience. The water was pretty cold (12 degrees) because it was wintertime, but we got really good gear (wetsuit, gloves and scuba socks). You didn´t even think about the temperature of the water when you saw and swam with the dolphins! There were lots of them and when the pod of dolphins... More

This experience was awesome!! It was one of the very few places that gave us dry wet suits and enough to actually keep us warm in the water. We were welcomed by friendly enthusiastic staff, taken into a briefing room and were given all the instructions we needed before heading out to sea. The dolphins were everywhere! Every few minutes... I had a great time swimming with the Dolphins, saw Royal Albatross, Hector Dolphins...the worlds smallest and rarest, Dusky Dolphins, went out twice as the first trip we were not so lucky, to go out 2 times it only cost an extra $20! Second time we had the luck, really a must! rent a GoPro if you haven't got one... More

This trip was the highlight of a 17 day road trip that my friend and I did a few years ago. I should've reviewed right away but I am just getting into Trip Advisor. All I can say is if you have the chance to do this, DO IT! Do not hesitate just go for it. Wonderful trip, wonderful guides.... More

If you are anywhere near Kaikoura, you MUST do the Dolphin Encounter. It was one of the most memorable experiences of our 6 months traveling through Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, and something I'll remember all of my life. I already want to bring children I don't even have yet to swim with the dolphins some day, after they are... More

If you want so see dolphins this is the place to bee. The Staff is well trained and know their business. There is the option to swim with wild dolphins – wild dolphins – so the will act in a natural way (they look and will vanish – it’s their environment and we are guests), but it’s definitely worth it.... This is such a great trip to do - to go see the dusky dolphins - who live on large pods of several hundred - who are very playful and acrobatic. This is great for spectators but fantastic to swim with them. A very special experience which I wholeheartedly recommend!
