Always wanted to swim with dolphins. So booked this trip, getting into the wetsuit gave me sympathy with a sausage , then a short trip out into the bay. Several swims with a pod of 200 dolphins swimming round, jumping over watching tail walks and back flips. Mind blowing. Highly recommended.

A wonderful early morning adventure to swim with the dolphins. Great organisation and excellent guides. This is certainly a must do when visiting Kaikoura.

The other reviews sum up the experience very well. Interacting with the wild, dusky dolphins was a wonderful experience and the staff and crew were very professional, friendly and helpful. I didn't appreciate having to be there at 6 am to sit and watch an advertising video twice while wearing a wetsuit on the premise of an instructional video though.... More

It was a great experience to be able to swim with the beautiful dusky dolphins! There are not many places in the world where you can actually swim with untamed dolphins (they'll swim around and very close to you but you wont be able to touch them though) in the midst of the ocean,so if you have the opportunity and... The whole trip was so well organized, from getting our gear, to hearing a safety briefing, to riding to the boat and then getting out to the dolphins. The staff were great, very helpful, and it was easy to get in the water and swim out among the dolphins. It's a unique experience to be so close to them. Afterwards... More

I would recommend booking in advance, we stayed an extra night as we hadn't and chanced it on the waiting list which luckily paid off. We did the early morning (5:30am) trip and swam with loads of dusky dolphins and the odd seal, it was an amazing experience and the team are fantastic. Although we haven't suffered from sea sickness... More

This was such an incredible experience, well worth the £90 we paid to do it! We got the 12.30 departure. We had a thorough (but not boring) safety briefing including tips on getting the dolphins to interact with you. We were given clean wetsuits and snorkels, and a short bus rode took us to the boat, Delphinidae. We found the... More

Words cannot describe this experience. We absolutely loved dolphin encounter, it is definitely one of the best activities you can do in New Zealand. Although it is a little bit pricey it is absolutely worth every penny, you get to swim up close and personal with these beautiful creatures in their natural environment, the pictures really do reflect the experience.... My husband and I did the early morning tour (departed at 5:45) and while it was still quite chilly, you are literally swimming with hundreds of dolphins. Throughout the tour, you jump in 4-5 times and watch them swim. They don't do anything to attract the dolphins, so you have to try and entertain them so they'll stick around. The... More

It has always been a life long dream of mine to swim with wild dolphins but I never imagined it would be so amazing. We had to wait a few days to go out onto the boat because there were huge storms but it was worth the wait and I would do it again in a heartbeat. The staff were... More
