This trip was the highlight of a 17 day road trip that my friend and I did a few years ago. I should've reviewed right away but I am just getting into Trip Advisor. All I can say is if you have the chance to do this, DO IT! Do not hesitate just go for it. Wonderful trip, wonderful guides.... More

If you are anywhere near Kaikoura, you MUST do the Dolphin Encounter. It was one of the most memorable experiences of our 6 months traveling through Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, and something I'll remember all of my life. I already want to bring children I don't even have yet to swim with the dolphins some day, after they are... More

If you want so see dolphins this is the place to bee. The Staff is well trained and know their business. There is the option to swim with wild dolphins – wild dolphins – so the will act in a natural way (they look and will vanish – it’s their environment and we are guests), but it’s definitely worth it.... This is such a great trip to do - to go see the dusky dolphins - who live on large pods of several hundred - who are very playful and acrobatic. This is great for spectators but fantastic to swim with them. A very special experience which I wholeheartedly recommend!

We decided to join the Swim With Dolphins tour at the winter time and surprisingly it was not as cold as I have expected. Thanks to the complete equipment that they have supplied to keep us warm as possible. Detailed, interesting and easy-to-understand briefing video session before we off to the sea. I suffered of the sea sickness on the... More

Swimming with dolphins was like a dream come true! Such a cool experience, and the staff both in the office and onboard the boat was exceptional. They were super nice, very informative and really knew how to handle that people get seasick out on the ocean (our trip the sea was pretty rough). We were lucky to find a lot... More

This was a real highlight of our June 2014 trip to New Zealand. There are no guarantees, but they seem to consistently find big groups of Dusky Dolphins in the bay, and the dolphins seem to really love interacting with people. This is a completely natural habitat (dolphins are in the wild), and they do not feed them. We were... More

There were at least 500 dolphins in the pod we swam with in January 2014, the experience was amazing! A must do for an animal lover! I had never snorkeled before, and can barely swim, but the wetsuits wont let you sink. Breathing was a little difficult though, and I spend a lot of the time catching my breath, but... More

Had a great time. My boyfriends foot was broken so we didn't swim with the dolphins but we were the only ones on the front of the boat and the dolphins were coming right up and jumping in front of us. Went on a gorgeous day and the water was turquoise with a mist rising over the mountains in Kaikoura.... More

We went swimming with dolphins mid-July. Of course this means winter, but we got thick wetsuits, with hoodies, gloves and socks. I wasn't cold in the water when I got over the intitial shock (took me a minute to get my breathing under control). Everything is organized very professionally and we found a big pod of dolphins. They are not... More
