A must do, this was fabulous, up close and personal with baby seals. Amazing!! This was free and a very easy walk from car park. Look for baby seals right from the start, we found three playing at the very start of track. Keep walking until the end of the track so you don't miss the waterfall there are soo... More

This is a magical place. The seals play in a waterfall area just upstream from the ocean. It is an easy hike and well developed. We had three different wineries tell us about it at Blenheim and knew we needed to stop by. It is so much fun to see them in their natural habitat and we thank New Zealand... More

This will be one of the highlights of our NZ trip! We love animals and baby by animals are especially nice. The short walk from the highway was picturesque and baby seals could be spotted along the way. The small pool was writhing with activity. Baby seals playing with sticks and pieces of grass, playing with each other and climbing... More

There is nothing better than seeing nature this close up and for FREE!!! We were there in April and there were lots of seal pups frolicking in the stream. It was also good to see other people being respectful, and keeping their distance. Across the road were a whole lot of bigger seals and some pups. This is an absolute... More

We loved our visit to this activity but were really annoyed with the lack of respect some travellers had for these wild animals. They need a ranger watching them because people are too stupid too read the signs

Lovely to see the seal pups in their natural environment expressing natural behaviour. Just hope it doesn't get too commercialised and the seals end up been driven away

This was one of the coolest things I did when I was in New Zealand. We walked through and there were a few seal pups swimming in a stream and we thought that was awesome but as we kept going through, there were more and more. We finally got to the waterfall and there were SO MANY seal pups. It... More

The Ohau stream and waterfall surrounded by forest was truly a magical place! Accessible to all and your heart cannot help but melt when you see this baby seal paradise! We visited in winter which is the best time of year to see the most seal pups...there must have been at least a hundred playing, swimming, sleeping and wrestling...plenty of... More
