We were told about this hidden pool by the owner of the Hamptons B&B in Kaikoura where we were staying. So after leaving Kaikoura for our next destination we found the area and hiked 10 minutes or so the the pools. The hike is on well maintained pathways and is fairly easy to navigate. Once we reached the pools there... More

An easy, short walk from the parking area to the falls. You can spot some little guys playing along the way and a ton of them at the falls. A great way to get up close to the cute babies. Get there early before the busses do.

We saw so many baby seals frolicking and were there early so we were the only people there. They look as if they are having such fun! The waterfall is amazing and the whole experience an absolute delight

I don't know how these baby seals discovered this waterfall and pond that is about 300 metres from the beach but they manage to trek up there and simply frolic in the pond under the waterfall. In fact even the waterfall is great to see and if you're lucky you will see the seals making their way up the rocks... More

This is something not to be missed when the seal cubs are small. We couldn't believe our eyes as we walked up the well-formed path and saw all the young seals along the way. When we got to the waterfall and pool at the top we were simply overwhelmed! It is definitely a 'must see' when travelling up the coast.

Its pretty amazing to see wild seal pups. An easy walk with nice waterfall at the end and seal pups playing along the stream. Have fun spotting them! Ryan&Ruby Singapore

We loved this. 400m before or after the brown sign for Ohau Point (depednding on which was you are travelling) are some car parking spaces for Ohau Waterfall. Here there is a short walk along a stream, ending in a beautiful waterfall. We spent about 2 hours here the first time and then went back in the evening for another... More

A short easy walk up an easy track to the waterfall where watching the seal pups play in the basin of the falls is so much fun. They are like children having a great time

Excellent location and fun to see the baby fur seals playing in the waterfall. Shame about the people, more often than not being NZers, climbing over areas they shouldn't be to try and take pictures of the seals. No wonder one of the seals stayed under the rock when surrounded by 20+ people and one guy jamming a sefie stick... More
