We stopped in here late afternoon. The seals were In different areas with some sleeping on the walk way so be cautious. There was a seal pup heading out to sea which was cute to watch.

It was a really nice colony. If we hadn't just come from the Ohau seal pups we'd have thought it was a real treat. Lovely short 5 minute drive from Kaikoura town.

The Seal colony is a must do, 30 minute walk from the YHA easy to find as it's signposted. Don't get too close to the Seal's though, they're feisty!

Lazy seal lying around the car park. You can see it so close at the car park. Can't imagine there is such place in the world. Wonderful!

We couldn't believe our eyes when we just saw seals by the side of the road, there were many more once we stopped the car and looked down towards the seashore. This was such an amazing place, we loved it.

Easily accessible and close to town, the seals lounge in the sunshine in and around the car park. No charge, beautiful scenery and best all of all getting up close with the seals in their natural environment.
