This is definitely worth the drive. It's an easy 10 minute walk down to a bridge where you can see the beautiful turquoise water. The view is simply stunning, and it's a must see if you're planning on being anywhere near Hokitika.

I was very impressed with the gorge! I have never seen such beautifully turquoise water before! It was an easy 10 minute walk, and the 20-30 minute drive was extremely pleasant and definitely worth it!

The most beautiful attractionn in hokitika for both locals and tourists, this is a place not to miss. First:it's free. Which in irself is a good attractive force. On days of good weather its torquoise blue waters are stunning, the views terriffic. On stormy days, the water is grey and rugged with stunning rapids. Worth the drive and the walk.

Worth the 30 minute drive out of Hokitika. Never seen water colour like with a beautiful aqua gorge making for some fantastic photos. Even though it is only a small place it was a highlight of our trip.

The best things in life are free - this is a great example. Well worth the drive from Hokitika. The easy 10 min walk from the car park has beautiful views, along the way. The swing bridge is impressive, the pale blue water spectacular. Take the time to sit of the rocks at the lookout if you can. It is... More

Fantastic views! The water was so blue - it was such a great spot to see. The walk is only around 10minutes and it's very easy. Very cool swing-bridge to walk across too :)

The blue waters make a subject for some excellent photography. They are also building new viewing points in the near future which will make the trip more fruitful.

I never tire of going here. It is astonishing! The colour is unbelievable. I think it is wise to avoid going there just after heavy rain since I can immagine that the water would be more muddy then. Try a dip - if it is warm. It's VERY cold!

Definitely worth a visit. Beautiful dreamy blue coloured mountain waters centering a lovely area of bushy trees and a slightly bouncy swingbridge that leads accross it. Go and enjoy. Very beautiful.
