I love the Quarry Arts Centre. It's such a beautiful place with great art classes for kids and adults. We've taken many classes there and really enjoyed them. The grounds are filled with sculptures and the whole place feels like an artists wonderland. Just being there conjures up creative energy. A must see in Whangarei. There's also a gallery and... Had expected a little gem, but the gem had become quite dull. It is in dire need of some TLC, cleaning up and a bit of investment for upgrade.

Nothing to see here. Everything is in poor condition. Only 2 shops open and welcoming. One shop keeper literally closed the door in our faces as we were approaching. Don't know what they are trying to accomplish here but don't waste your time.

I think the first building on the left is a community gallery and I was lucky enough to meet the artist setting up who welcomed me warmly and set the scene for our short look around the site. I love the concept of such places and was really glad to make purchases in the volunteer run shop. I took photos... More

An interesting place and good to be able to wander round and meet some of the artists. There are plenty of different arts to see and a shop to buy some New Zealand presents in.

Artists come in all shapes and forms with and within different mediums. I'm sure you will find some form that will pique your interest. Sculpture, Painting, Music, Photography, Glass, writing, you name it, it is here. If you seek information and informative conversation about your medium of choice then the various resident and visiting artists are only to happy to... More

If you're into art of any media then this place could be of interest to you. There is - a cafe, - a shop that sells the items made by the artists, - a gallery that always has a exhibition showing, - a couple of artists galleries where you can go a view their work - workshops where you can... More

When we went there wasn't that many resident artists and those that were there didn't seem to have the time of day for us - which is odd seeing as they want to sell their stuff. Perhaps a rainy day activity

Popped in to get off the road for a bit, would have loved the chance to have a better look, but the 5 yr old needed to run around. An art gallery, and then a bunch of different art studios with people making and selling different types of art. Beautiful setting in bush with tuis singing, cool gardens and a... More
