For those visting NZ this is a must do on your way to the Bay of Islands. As a NZer I sped pass here on the way to Russell without a moments thought. Never again. It is truly a beautiful part of the country. Lie in bed and drift off with kiwi birds chirping away, the lodge is incredibly clean... More

Accomodation was spotless, food sensational, setting very peaceful. The shrieking kiwis at night were very special, there were also shrieking kiwis (girls on tour) tussling for the amazing outdoor bath. The endless hot water after a very hard days walk was priceless.

A friend of mine recently organised a girls weekend at Bream Head Coast walks, I wasn't really involved in the organisation so I wasn't at all sure of what to expect. The accommodation and service far outweighed ANY expectations I may have had. Every little detail was thought of, right down to a refreshing ice block at the end of... More

Bream Head Coast Walks was THE perfect start to my NZ journey. Initially, I wasn't planning to go north of Auckland, but gratefully, I happened upon a description of BHCW on TripAdvisor. I was intrigued, and again - gratefully - reserved a 3-day stay. Even though the first day was torrential downpour, it didn't matter. I loved every moment. 1.... More

We loved our 3 days at Bream Head, experiencing, for us, a very different part of NZ.The native bush was superb and we saw some wonderful specimens of Kauri and Puriri on both the Mt Lion and Mt Mania walks.Claire came down on our arrival and made us feel very welcome and provided us with an informative briefing of the area... What a great experience and excellent facility!!! The lodge and food were exceptional and our host, Claire, was very professional and friendly. She has really done her homework on this operation and you will not be disappointed. Everything about it was first class.

I did this walk with a group of 8 other female friends. This is our fourth walk together. We prefer the fully catered private walks and have done the Tora Walk, Walk Gisbourne and one is the Bay of Plenty. The Bream Head Walk would rank as one of the top private walks in our opinion. The custom built accommodation... More

Claire and Mark Pearson are generous hosts who have thought of everything to make your experience one to thoroughly enjoy. The lodge is well designed and well appointed for small or large groups, (3 bathrooms for 12 people!). Claire's food is superb and appears like magic each day. The outdoor bath was so welcome at the end of a day's... More
