We hiked around Busby Head and Smuggler's Cove. The views were, in a word, terrific!! For anyone who is a hiker there is no better place. The trail is very well marked and maintained.

The accommodation is a modern building with a variety of rooms that included a double bed in one room, two singles in another and two dorms with bunks. We stayed in the room with two single beds. There are two bathrooms inside and an outside bath. The lounge was well furnished with great views over the farmlands to the Pacific... More

Three friends and I really enjoyed our time up at Whangarei Heads, staying at Claire and Mark's purpose built home. The house itself is well appointed with beautiful 180 degree views from the deck and a bush view at the rear. It is modern with a large dining /living area the width of the house, 3 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms,... More

The beach walk on day one is rather tedious if you go both ends of the beach as we did; I'd recommend walking just to Ocean Beach and then having a swim. Mt Lion is relatively easy going up and offers fantatsic views; the coming down is made difficult by the slippery leaves underfoot- we relied on walking poles and... More

We are a group of friends and this is our 3rd walk together. Bream Head was a fabulous walk. The accommodation is purpose built, clean, spacious and extremely comfortable. The outdoor bath a real treat. The meals were absolutely delicious and the walks were varied with stunning scenery. The walk along the beach is not difficult and could possibly be... More
