We have visited New Zealand many times, and mostly drove through Thames on the way in or out of Coromandel. This trip we decided to go visit the Ngatea Water Gardens which is about 1/2 hour drive south of Thames. What a fun and quirky place to visit, definitely worth an hour or more of your time. The signs posted... More

Take a camera. I recommend to vist the Garden on yout way to Coromandel. Walk takes You 45 minutes. It is worthy to find time for a coffe and cake in the cafeteria.

The Ngatea Water Gardens are a lovely spot to visit. The owners have a wonderful sense of humour. I had lots of giggles. It has beautifully kept and had lots to see. I enjoyed feeding the ducks and the fish, the museum is an added bonus.

Filled with interesting tid bits to keep both children & adults in excited wonder as to what lay around the next bend. King Arthurs Castle, the sword in the stone, the mystery of the buried village, we... More

What a lovely place to visit, and so much more then just gardens with water lillies. A white peacock wanderd around and plenty of birds and goldfish to feed, Very quirky signs and what an anormous can collection in the shed. Great place to celebrate mother In-laws 80th Birthday with family. Beautifully looked after grounds.

Such as, "Boats for Hire" and the boats are half sunk. They also have parking meters for boats about a metre into the water -... More
