Miranda hot pools is a place of great historic value and olden day charms, Life certainly takes a comfortable step backwards in time when one sees this natural beauty for the first time. The grounds are generous with plenty of shaded cover to take in a quiet moment; before surrendering your weary body to the relaxing soul healing and spirit... More

My family and I had a lovely day at the hot springs. Staff were friendly, fish and chips were super and the pool was hot and so relaxing. Just regarding the negative reviews about this place, which could put people off coming. Does it really matter if the changing rooms are not 5 star? As you are only in them... More

We went to Miranda Hot Pools for a big family gathering to celebrate a birthday. We had a lovely day. The grounds are nicely looked after. There are plenty of BBQ facilities, good little playground for the children and variety of sized tables under shade. The pool is hot but you get use to it after a few minutes, the... More

Was "greeted" by an unfriendly, barely helpful, older female at the ticket stand. Was quite a put off but we had travelled so far to get there we decided to stay out of of better judgement. Not a good impression for local or international travellers. Did see a note saying the pools will be closed some time in feb for... More

We called in on the 2nd of January - were charged an expensive $21.00 for a child and adult!. The pools are old and dirty. The toilets needed a clean. We had been looking forward to it and expected it to be a highlight of our trip. I'd hate to think if anyone were to get into trouble swimming with... More

We arrived wearing jumpers in October, (we are from Queensland) and it was bliss to have a long quiet soak just the two of us in this genuine hot spring, the only one we experienced in NZ. The spa in Our Rotorua motel was just a spa bath, but thermal pools are something you have to experience. Only a slight... More

Great place! Yes could do with a paint and the changing sheds could do with a change of roofing as the colour inside is horrible. But its definitely great for famiies :)

My family are big fans of hot springs so we decided to stop here on our way back to Auckland from Coromandel ... short detour. It's a bit tired and the showering facilities aren't great, but the large pool is a great temperature and the kids liked the bouncing pillow to let off steam in between relaxing in the pool.... More

Yes the pool is in need of a coat of paint or tiling and perhaps the admission is a touch too high, but overall the experience was a good one. The large main pool has plenty of steps on which to sit and the water temperature is perfect. The hot spa at the end of the pool is terrific too... More

We stop here fairly often on the way back from weekends away. Yes, the place looks a little date and run down and could do with a lick of paint; but once you are in the water and relaxing none of that matters. Very clean and tidy and a great atmosphere with entire families making a day of it. Both... More
