This place was recommended by a friend in NZ; it was a very nice place to visit. A small garden, with not many orchids in bloom, but you the amount of butterflies certainly made-up for the lack of flowers.

We found a flyer for this place in one of our accommodations and are so glad we decided to come. It was so interesting we stayed probably well over an hour. Although small-looking and unprepossessing from the outside, once inside it becomes a "magic garden" where you are bombarded by flying jewels. Because the temperature and humidity are controlled at... More

I am the proprietor of the holiday park adjacent the Thames tropical butterlfy garden. The butterfly house people are wonderful and their attraction awesome. What is not so awesome is people below posting a bad review about them on Trip Advisor when their problem was with the owner of the holiday park (me). When people visit way outside butterfly hours... The garden area is quite small but is a delight to see as it is full of exotic butterflies and small finches. Although the word 'Orchid' is included in the name of the gardens, there were not many flowering orchids to see on our visit. The entry price of $12pp seemed a very cheap entry fee as we were entertained... More

Take a camera. You can see in the garden a lot of gorgeous butterfies and flowers. I recommend this place especially for children. I am dissapointed with one Blue Chap. Blue gay was very fast so I wasn't able to make a picture. A speed limit for butterfies is highly recommended.

Entering the butterfly house, you are besieged by a wide range of tropical butterflies in their own habitat. This aspect is well covered The orchid garden was disappointing as not many on display and not labelled. The cost $12 seemed high for one room

This attraction is not well publicised and hence has quite a low-key profile. It is also probably not somewhere you will find unless you go looking for it. Consequently it is a pleasant and enchanting experience to discover it. Beautiful butterflies fluttering about amongst equally beautiful tropical plants including orchids. It is a very relaxing and calming place to spend... More

We were pleasently surprised to find this place which has a huge collection of butterflies. The kids loved it. The hot house which the garden and butterflies are housed it in quite small (and hot) but we enjoyed about 40 minutes wandering around the paths and looking at all the different varieties. Worth a visit, especially with kids

We would've liked to see the butterflies and orchids, but since we dared to use the bathrooms before going in we were chased from the premises by an angry shouting man. He wouldn't even talk to us, and didn't cease shouting after seeing that we were travelling with a now crying baby. Not cool.
