And do have a meal. The chef is very imaginative - try his hot and cold pea soup, for example. And then walk to the falls, through beautiful gardens. Take swimming attire if it's that sort of day, there's a pool at the falls.

Interesting gardens worked into the hillside and forest. We enjoyed our slow stroll. Had tea and banana bread after.

Off the track a bit but well worth the effort. Coromandel Peninsular is stunning and this is one of the jewels. Peaceful manicured gardens slowly winding their way up to magnificent natural bush land waterfall, the last section on a track meandering through lush native bush. A visit to the cafe on return is a must for superb coffee and... More

When we finished the relaxing walk on the scenic paths, I thought the entry fee wasn't worth it...until we found that we were only half way through. Wonder how many others missed the waterfall walk?? With no mudmap provided and little in the way of signage, it's easy to miss some of the best features.

An oasis in paradise! The gardens are sublime, and a swim in the rock pool under the cascades after a picnic lunch on the rocks was beautiful.

A short detour off the the main highway at Tapu brings you to the Rapauru Watergardens where you can slow down and relax a while from dashing around visiting other sites. The gardens have been well laid out with interesting displays and features at every turn. A second part of the visit takes you through native bush and to a... More
