Stopped off for afternoon tea in the "country style" café. More like a greasy spoon with a horrible smell of old oil. Usual milk bar fare on offer. Didn't bother to eat anything but went straight through to cheese shop. Allansford cheese was excellent with good selection. Apart from that, just your usual over priced providor offerings.

Looked good from outside large processing plant and buildings, all in the heart of the sleepy countryside. Inside small cheese museum and small cafe with a little shop where cheese tasting took place. Only a few on offer to taste but were very good. Could be made more interesting if whole process was shown. Not really cheese world.. Only worth... More

Great cheeses and a variety of many foods such as jams, chocolates. They also have free cheese tasting which makes it easier in order to select cheese for purchase.

Its not much of a museum. They have a variety of cheese. We thought we would be able to see the production side but we could only do the tasting and buy cheese. Do not go here if you just want to sightsee

First appearances were not good with standard groceries and imported gift and Nic naps the first thing seen Perhaps all the wine cheese and gourmet products could be featured at front of shop and keep the cafe totally separate as the smell of deep fried foods was also off putting and did not really go with the concept of gourmet.... We knew the cheese factory was there but hadn't bothered to visit before, now we recommend you go out there, it's great. They have a great museum with all sorts in, fabulous cheese tasting, great shop and a really nice cafe. We had a wonderfull day.

I'm not a mad cheese lover but my wife is and she was very happy with the range of the cheese that was available for sale. She bought a bag full. There is a large eatery and bottle shop/gift shop in the same building. Outside in another building is the museum which is very well set out and informative. Came... More

My wife had read reviews and this became one of the must do stops enroute. However, this was so disappointing!!!!just another cheese outlet if I may say so. The staff also were very to the point. We did not stop for food so can't comment on that but honestly I would not suggest a stop there.

We purchased some lovely cheese and other local produce from here. We thought they may have had a bit more variety than what they did. Nice cafe, service was a bit all over the place, and as such we didn't hang around for a milkshake. The service in the gift shop was fantastic! We'll be back for that milkshake!
