This reserve has grown from a dingy backwater to a top little nature reserve over the last 15 or so years. Well maintained & loved by a friends group, there is a couple of short trail options to walk, plenty of water birds on the lake and information boards to help with the experience. Nice picnic spot, walk the pooch,... More

This reserve attracts a variety of bird life including ducks, swans, egrets and many others. There is a well cared-for walking track which takes about 15-20 minutes around the lake - some of the track is a boardwalk at one end of the lake. Near the lake there are some tables and chairs for picnics, and a good carpark. This... More

We walk here regularly with our dog. Has to be kept on lead due the bird life though. A lovely walk in a lovely reserve that is well cared for by the community. Often come across families with young kids who seem to love the birds.

Not too far from home is this reserve... and yet, I have never really taken time to walk through it...until today. It's very serene, the sounds of birdlife is amazing... adding to the landscape. There is historical significance for this site that ties it back to the Railways... a source of water for the steam trains... However these days, it's... More

This is a great place is you want a nice quiet stroll with several different walks to choose from and plenty of wildlife to see it is great for the kids as well. There are some picnic tables but don't take your picnic here you wont be able to eat with the onslaught of ducks.

Birdlife, water and trees and a great place for a picnic only 3 mins out of the town centre. Shelter and info boards to tell you what birds you can see.

The reserve is an amazing retreat to get back to nature, it's like being in another world....and it's all so close to the town. The ducks and other water fowl are very friendly and there's plenty to see as you wander around the reservoir. The work that has been done here is a credit to those involved! Check it out,... More

Love visiting the reserve. Great walk around the lake, plenty of ducks to feed and nice just sitting and watching all the bird life. Perfect place for wedding photos or any type of photography. This reserve is a credit to all the volunteers who maintain it and make it a place for everyone to enjoy.
