Authentic steam driven paddlesteamers depart daily from the Echuca Wharf which originally extended 333 metres in length in the 1880's and has been recently been reconstructed.Home of the TV series "All the Rivers Run", the Port of Echuca will provide you with a glimpse of what live was really like in the late 1800's. With the new Discovery Centre now open, it is indeed an attraction not to be missed. « less

Brilliant, the guides know their stuff. So much to see and do. Bit pricey in restaurants and had to wait a bit too long for service, but food was really tasty...don't know why EVERYone seems to think that olives and fetta are wanted by every customer though

A very well laid out family friendly place to visit. The information was pitched so as both children and adults benefited from the experience. Plenty of picture boards, authentic machinery and literature to read.

Port of Echuca was very interesting - lovely to see all the Paddle Steamers ... Shame that there is a modern café smack in the middle of it sort of spoils it I thought ..

Port of Echuca is a interesting location to spend a few hours , looking at the old Paddle Steamers , Historic buildings and wood carving workshop. Although the river was very low, the paddle steams were still able to make their way up the river. The Discovery Centre is also a good place to get information about the town and... More

Port of Echuca discovery centre, great place to go back in time. Take the guided tour, full of information. Simon the host, could not stop talking. Wealth of knowledge and passion in his presentation. Took us back in time and showed us many original pieces and how people worked and lived back in the mid 1850's. It was a thriving... More

As a frequent visitor's to Echuca we always spend a day down at the Historic Port, weather its a cruise down tne river on an old paddle steamer, a lap around the block on the horse and carriage or just a wonder down the old street to step back in time, it really is a fun family day out.

We have visited several times in the past, but last time the Port was closed for restoration. This time we bought a couple from the UK and they were thrilled with the experience. We took the guided tour before wandering around with the help of the site map provided before doing a trip on the old Paddle Steamer. A most... More
