Owner description: The Port of Echuca is a living monument to the 1870's when it was Australia's largest inland port and indeed the third largest port in Australia outside Sydney and Melbourne. Authentic steam driven paddlesteamers depart daily from the Echuca Wharf which originally extended 333 metres in length in the 1880's and has been recently been reconstructed.Home of the TV series "All the Rivers Run", the Port of Echuca will provide you with a glimpse of what live was really like in the late 1800's. With the new Discovery Centre now open, it is indeed an attraction not to be missed.

An excellent tour around the renovated wharf area and the buildings that face onto the wharf itself. The guide was excellent well versed on the history of the Port and its surrounding buildings. The guided tour takes 90mins and is good value for money (Concession $11.00pp) and it gives you all day access to the wharf area that will take... More

We visited Echuca some years ago so were pleasantly surprised to find the new port of Echuca. Had a lovely trip on the Canberra and then followed the lovely Jen on a fact finding tour of the port, such local knowledge is just fantastic.

The Subway in Echuca on the port was great, it's the best. The people there are friendly and the food is sooooo fresh.

Echuca is a beehive of activity whether you are a participant or an observer. The historical aspect has depth and variety and who can not be captivated by the paddle steamers.

I have been to Echuca Port several times before over the years but made this trip so that my Thai visitor could understand a little about Victoria's early history. We visited mid week so town and port area was quiet and relaxing. I expect that it is busier on weekends and long weekends. We had an enjoyable 2 days in... More

This is a great historical area filled with lots of things from the past and worth taking some time to look around. There are working steam engines, history notes and photos and of course the paddle steamers

Its been many years since I last visited the port, but I was somewhat taken back by the poor appearance. There are many buildings empty and up for rent. The attractions are somewhat run down, and in need of attention. I wouldn't be rushing back here to look at the port. The only real need to go here is to... More
