Spent a couple of hours here enjoying the museum, gardens and temple. The museum is well presented with explanations in English and Chinese. Worth a visit to see some beautiful items and understand the history of the Chinese in Bendigo.

What a great collection of dragons, art, and other memorabilia that showcases the Chinese contribution to Bendigo and gold digging. There are storyboards which provide insights, a collection of money from a range of countries and eras, a beautiful jade carriage and much more. Certainly worth the $11 entry fee

We really enjoyed our visit to this attraction and think the concept and execution very well done. Vast array of Chinese artifacts and information regarding their contribution to Australian way of life particularly during the gold rush era. Many misconceptions regarding the important role they played are explained and leaves the visitor with a greater understanding of the hardships and... More

I went to visit the Golden Dragon Museum while in Bendigo recently and was absolutely in awe of what I saw in there, everything was just so stunning and the people who work/volunteer there are incredibly helpful and just lovely, couldn't recommend the museum more, it's well worth visiting and I'm hoping to get back for another look next time... Bendigo's rich history of Gold mining and the relationship with Chinese miners is celebrated by the Chinese Museum which houses hundreds of artifacts including Loong the old Imperial Dragon that used to come out at Easter fair festivals but now is too old and fragile. It was replaced by Sun Loong dragon in the 1970's and which is still today... More

This museum is a hidden gem. The history and the artefacts contained within its walls I are mind boggling. This museum truly displays the rich heritage of the Chinese of the area. From amazing furniture, costumes and clothing to the extremely exciting dragons and banners.

Give yourself plenty of time to visit this amazing place. The Golden Dragon Museum is filled with artifacts from the Australian Gold Rush days when many Chinese people came to find gold. I was absolutely stunned with what was on display, it's very awe inspiring, breathtakingly beautiful & filled with so much history. This is one place that is a... More

We had our 13 year old grandson. He loved it. The historic festive dragons alone were worth seeing. All exhibits were in good order and well documented. A visit to the adjacent Chinese garden was also worth while.

While visiting family in Bendigo, we stopped in for a look, and I was pleasantly surprised with the amount and quality of Chinese artifacts. Being from the U.S., the museum gave me a good history lesson about Chinese immigration into Australia, and Bendigo especially, and the challenges this population experienced. For a family of five, I thought it was a... More
