The Golden Dragon Museum is a very eclectic collection of materials going back to the Gold Rush, showing how the Chinese made a life in Australia, and Bendigo in particular. There is a nice Chinese style garden where many Chinese people still get married today. The Museum houses the largest Imperial Dragon (Sun Loong) in the world and the oldest... More

Wonderful display of chinese historical and ceremonial artefacts, costumes and furniture, centred around the history of the Chinese community in Bendigo and Victoria, and the magnificent Dragons on full display. Well worth a visit, especially if the time is taken to read the displayed records of this fascinating part of our immigration history.

the garden was pretty but not outstanding the temple was ok but the museum had a great deal of interesting items the museum is well kept and managed. It will take you some time to look at all the articles and more if you really want to read everything.

I have visited this museum on several occasions over the years, returning here recently. This is the first time that I was not as impressed with customer service. The young lady at the counter was lovely, but it was almost as if the life had been sucked away from all of the other staff at the museum. Regardless of the... More

It was really interesting and there was a lot to see and read. Could've easily spent a few hours here if we weren't so tired from walking through the Deborah mine already

I was more interested in seeing the Chinese gardens than the museum but myself and my husband went in anyway. Its not really our thing but there is a lot of information and you could spend hours in the museum reading information and taking photos (no flash photography but my photos worked out fine). The gardens are very small but... More

This place is worth a visit just for the sheer spleandour of the exhibits. However, if you are at all interested in the cultural history as well, then this place is an absolute gold mine of things to see. The Chinese Garden is also beautiful and a peaceful place to rest a while and maybe have your packed lunch. Expect... More

Amazing collection that would be envied in mainland China and Taiwan. Many works saved by Australian patron from the destruction of the Cultural Revolution
