A great little museum

As a museum it is great. They have some amazing artefacts and displays. It is not very big and it is not designed for smaller children but it delivers well as advertised.

There is so much in this museum that we spent more time here than expected. The displays of chinese lifestyle, chinese families, and the role that the chinese communities played in the goldfield days were most interesting. I loved the dragon on the second floor and would really like to see it on parade. There were so many interesting artefacts... More

Such a varied collection of Chinese artifacts from the Gold rush, with an extensive historical review and many donated items makes this a must see.

This is one of the most interesting places, gives information about Bendigo's Gold Field days. Must mention that the arches in the photo are no longer there which is a shame as they made a nice entrance to the museum.

Wonderful dragons to see, so colourful and big. The museum provided some interesting insights about life in the 1800's and how the Chinese integrated. The outside garden was nice, but not that awe inspiring.

An excellent display of Chinese artifacts particularly with the addition of the St Alban's collection. Wonderful array of collectibles plus, of course, the longest dragon in Australia. Take your time and experience the history of the Chinese history in the Australian goldfields.

An amazing collection of dragons, art, furniture, costumes and other artifacts. that is well presented with plenty of details. Spent several hours here, in the gardens and in the temple. Well worth the money.

The contents are fascinating but the presentation leaves something to be desired. The Bendigo Council should spend some money in this museum to upgrade it to a real 21st Century attraction. Entry fee at $11 per person, is not cheap - I really expected more 'bang for my buck'. I actually read ALL the information in the rather dull and... More

Spent a couple of hours here enjoying the museum, gardens and temple. The museum is well presented with explanations in English and Chinese. Worth a visit to see some beautiful items and understand the history of the Chinese in Bendigo.

What a great collection of dragons, art, and other memorabilia that showcases the Chinese contribution to Bendigo and gold digging. There are storyboards which provide insights, a collection of money from a range of countries and eras, a beautiful jade carriage and much more. Certainly worth the $11 entry fee
