The Golden Dragon Museum encompasses three parts including a Chinese Garden and Temple,as well as the Museum. The admission fee for adults was $11 with discounts for concession card holders and students. The museum illustrates the history of Chinese settlement in Bendigo and has a broad ran of exhibits including Chinese dragons, costumes and furniture.Displays set out the Chinese influence on... On a roadtrip to Aussie from New Zealand we decided to drive through Bendigo because of the architecture we had seen online... We decided to have a look in the Museum and The Whole family (mid 30s parents, 7 & 11 year old girls and 9 year old boy) absolutely loved it! Longest ceremonial dragon in the world and 2... More

Interesting museum showing artifacts, costumes etc of the early Chinese settling in Bendigo during the gold rush & later. The museum houses quite a few Chinese Dragons including the oldest existing dragon gifted to Bendigo by the Chinese population of Bendigo. A must see is the carriage weighing 2.2 tonnes & made completely of jade. You can also visit the... More

We have attended the Easter parade in Bendigo and see the large contingent of Chinese costumes dogs, lions and dragons but to attend the Golden Dragon museum and see the artifacts the have been accumulated over many years is astounding. This museum is not funded by council and depends on the hard work of a small number of dedicated staff,... More

Every town has its museum and some are better than others. But some are real stand-outs which should not be missed. The Golden Dragon Museum is one of those. It contains the most incredible collection of Chinese artefacts and memorabilia that you can imagine. Another visitor told us that the Bendigo collection is one of the best in the world... More

We have been here several times, most recently last week. It is a great museum with very knowledgable staff. Each time we go we learn something new about Chinese culture and the Chinese history in Bendigo. I love how at Easter the whole museum is virtually empty because the dragons and lions are brought out for the Easter Festival and... More

As a Bendigo local who grew up with the Chinese Association playing a big part in our Easter Festival celebrations, the Golden Dragon Museum is still a favourite place of mine to visit years later. It holds a fantastic collection of Chinese history and culture (and Bendigo's history) and it is well worth spending the time to look at and... More

This is great if you like history, see the oldest dragon or was it the longest dragon in the world either way it is fantastic, if you are there around Easter you will also get to see some of the displays in their full glory in the Parade.

We visited this museum with our three children aged 7,9 and 11. We found the museum very interesting and full of wonderful pieces of history, however there was a little too much reading for the children and little interactivity. The guide near the entrance was very informative, however, and was able to capture the attention of the children for a... More
