This museum is good but not very big. It is mostly dragons. Entry is not expensive though.. The best time to see the dragons is when they are in the Easter parade as they are a bit dull sitting still

The lives, experiences and sufferings of the early Chinese miners and their contribution to the growth and culture of Bendigo are wonderfully displayed and explained in this museum. There are a vast range of artifacts of Chinese life on display, the most spectacular being the intricately carved jade carriage and decorative wooden panels. We were astonished at the quality and... When you walk in you are welcome with a smiling face. There is a fee to pay and see the museum, but well worth it. The history it has is amazing. You need at least 2 hours too se it all. It has the largest dragon and the history is amazing.

Very well laid out and heaps of historical facts printed beneath each exhibit. there are 2 galleries with articles about the 100 m long Chinese dragon used every Easter for the Bendigo parade. The Gardens are less interesting but the carriages, vases, displays are well worthwhile reading about in each area.

My wife and I went to Bendigo with our Daughters for the first time and I have to say one of the attractions I wanted to see was the Dragon Museum , it holds the longest dragon in the Southern Hemisphere which measures 100 meters , we had the pleasure of meeting the owner and the guide of this famous... We were welcomed on entering the museum, by a gentleman who told us so much of the history of the artifacts in the museum and his sense of pride and involvement was wonderful to share. The dragon that was used in the opening of Parliament at the time of Federation is housed there as well as the new one which... More

Visited with 2 young boys who loved it as much as we adults. A very helpful staff member gave them heaps of additional information which they absorbed like a sponge . It has such a serene ambience and is so well displayed.Would recommend a visit to anyone .

Went to the Museum during my week long stay in Bendigo but whist the location is central and the surrounds very beautiful the content of the museum is tired. The government or the Council needs to plough some money to update it to the 21st century. Why wouldn't you have a yum Cha restaurant there which would be amazing. There's... More

We visited as part of a large group, many of whom are from Melbourne, so its a good place to show off Bendigo. The artefacts are brilliant, with interesting and amusing commentary to guide us through. With many new donations to the museum it can only get better-so good to be able to see the Dragons at rest rather than... More
