Golden Dragon Museum bring alive the history of Chinese immigration to the region, particularly during the Gold rush period. Education, authentic and interesting for the whole family.

We visited here not expecting to be so enthralled, it's packed full of info and beautiful stuff to look at the Chinese dragons are so mesmerising. We loved the Chinese gardens and temple spending over half hour just watching the fish swim round the big pond was like being in another world.

More than an introduction to the Chinese in local history, but it is that, it has some very nice Chinese sculpture and furniture. Although mostly late 19th century there are exhibits from the 18th century including a jade carriage. A must see for numanists as there are coins dating to the Han dynasty of 2000 years ago.

Surprisingly a good little museum showing a good representation of Chinese history in the region. Best part was the guide who was really into his work (probably voluntary). Not a large place but enough to hold your interest for an hour. Worth a visit.

Not a great experience . . . It was quite dark and a little unloved. Better lighting on the exhibits and some background music would be greatly beneficial. The mannequins could do with updating. It just seems a little sad and lacks pride and care. The items/souvenirs are very expensive and some items can be bought in something similar to... More

For starters thought it would be a nice place to introduce to my friends who pays me a short visit to Bendigo, then all the presentation just disappointed so bad! Wouldn't pay for it next time! Probably cause I've seen them in back in my country!

Really enjoy this museum every time I go. I continue to learn more every time. I often take friends from overseas there. It's such an asset to Bendigo. Xx

We were surprised at the many displays inside the museum, and the Ceremonial dragon was most interesting. Allow an hour to see all the stories. The only negative was that they didn't try to make the museum entrance more interesing.
