We have been to the gallery several times and we never tire of the superb woks and atmosphere. Take a leisurely stroll throughout and finish up with a coffee or wine at the café bar. Well worth the trip.

The permanent collection of the gallery is particularly attractive. Personally, i never tire of visiting this collection. I find many of the paintings thought provoking. Recently I saw two of the exhibitions with friends and enjoyed both of them, "The Body Beautiful in Ancient Greece" and " Undressed". I appreciated the well researched comments on the exhibits. The books with... More

The gallery is good to visit at any time with a wide range of classical and modern artworks. Easy parking and access is a bonus too. Regular major international exhibitions two or three times a year are worth special trips. We saw 'Genius and Ambition' earlier in the year and 'The Body Beautiful in Ancient Greece' recently. Both were rewarding.... More

The Bendigo Art Gallery was wise enough to secure regular exhibitions from the Victoria and Albert Museum and British Museum, when they extended the existing gallery some years ago. My friend and I, visited primarily to see the 'Body Beautiful' exhibition of Greek sculptures and vases, on loan from the British Museum. However, it must also be said that Bendigo... More

We visited the "Body Beautiful"the Greek exhibition which was the main event then we had lunch at the cafe visited the "Undressed"exhibition. Both exhibitions were excellent but the Body Beautiful was a great ancient Greek exhibition with marvelous artifacts. It was very well organised and impressive exhibitions and an enjoyable cafe for a light lunch.
