I visited this exhibition on opening day, the 19th July, and was blown away with the collection. From corsets to bustles to paniers to Queen Victoria's drawers, there were some incredible pieces. There was a coloured guide that explained each piece in detail and two videos covering lingerie through the ages, from over the past 350 years. There is so... More

A lovely Gallery, even though preparations underway for next exhibitions meant only two rooms open that weekend. Check out the statues nearby the Cafe, especially Eve and Venus.

I finally got myself to Bendigo to spend at least half a day in the art gallery. It was between exhibitions. I was in an out in 20 minutes. The new exhibition opens three days later. Wasted trip!Bother!!

They were preparing for a display so could only view one small area, which was disappointing and there was a group being lectured about aboriginal art, so we only had a few paintings available for viewing

Me and my friends went to the Bendigo Art Gallery to see the Genius & Ambition show. Its was excellent exhibition featuring significant works of British & Australian artists such as Turner, Gainsborough, Constable, Streeton, Bunny & Roberts. We were also enjoyed the quality of the gallery's permanent displays. For a regional gallery there are great representation of works from... More

I was able to spend a couple of hours here, both modern and traditional art. All paintings were well set out and I was surprised at the depth of the collection. Well worth a visit.

The Bendigo Art Gallery has managed to survive and prosper through extremely good management and clever planning of events. It has become a destination for city people to see an installation while enjoying a day out in this beautiful regional city. The next show on the agenda is one of undergarments through the centuries. Interesting, innovative and out of the... More

Bendigo's art gallery is a destination in it's own right. A major transformation is under way in this great place and the art gallery is a magnet for those who love intimacy and interest in their museum visits. We visited the touring exhibition of the British Academy; the building and curation was as interesting as the very interesting art on... More

I had never been here before and I was amazed how large the exhibition was. We had pre booked tickets but had underestimated the time needed to view . The building itself is a an excellent piece of history ,parking is easy if you ask a local ,out the back at a set price. Not running out to feed the... More

An interesting exhibition of works from the Royal Academy, London. I thought the lighting of the works was poor for most of the paintings and asked why. I was told it was a requirement of the Royal Academy. This is hard for me to understand because the New York Met has superb lighting and even allows flash photography of their... More
