Presented in a truly spectacular fashion. Riveting and educational but not for young children as it is above their level of understanding. Don't go to Ballarat without doing Blood on the Southern Cross. We included the dinner and the food surpassed all expectations. Would also recommend paying the extra for Governors Class tickets although not necessary.

Show was below expectation, after reading so much good reviews here. It was boring for me and my friends, not worth the expensive ticket. Only recommended to visitors interested in the history, or children who will love the lights and sound.

As a family of four when we went to buy the tickets they said they only had 3 spaces left. So I missed out - but when my wife and children attended that eveing she said there were several spare seats. My daughter (8) could not follow what it was about as the show assumes a level of knowledge of... More

I heard great reviews about this so I thought the kids would love it. But we did it and the kids found it utterly boring. Yes its very informative but does not hold the expectations that we had. The effect later on in the show were good, the early parts were boring. I assumed there would be actors but its... More

Did think $47.20 was a bit rich for pensioners though! We booked motel online, had we booked direct, we would of got a discount. Short taxi ride to / from motel.

I had no idea what this attraction would be like, but I can only say don't miss it! I am so glad I went, as I will probably not return to Australia. History unfolding in front of your eyes, with all the sights and sounds of the 1850's. Excellent show. I am unable to put the true date I visited,... More

The sounds, light and atmosphere of 1850s ballarat comes vividly to life during the four part presentation at sovereign hill. Everyday goldmining life is illustrated effectively and realistically and the whole eureka story is ably explained. The entire adventure stars at 645pm and finishes at 815pm. Staff helpful and attentive. Highly recommended.

Have to say that we didn't know what to make of this show. It is performed on four different stages and clients are taken from a cosy indoor theatre, then walk outside for the second section, then taken by coach to another theatre and then taken by coach to another theatre for the finishing speech. No actors are used at... More

The whole show is performed indoor and outdoor where audiences are led to several location both indoor and outdoor to experience the extreme weather the miners might have experienced. Very good light and sound show, my kids absolutely loved the experience.

Until I went to see this light and sound show, I never realised just how intense this was for the miners. I would recommend this to anyone contemplating going to see it , to pay the money because you will not be disappointed.
