Description: Experience the excitement and history of Launceston's spectacular Tamar...
Experience the excitement and history of Launceston's spectacular Tamar River from the comfort of our unique vessels. An informative commentary from our skippers will take you on a historical journey where you will discover the stories and tales that shaped Launceston and the Tamar Valley. Travel in to the heart of the Tamar and view the navigable section of the spectacular Cataract Gorge. Sample the delights of our local wines and cheeses as you view breathtaking scenery, world class vineyards, historical buildings, rural settings and frequent encounters of fascinating wild life including sea eagles, wild duck, black swans, pelicans, plus many other varieties of water-fowl and occasionally playful seals. One of our passenger recently commented it is like a moving postcard. It is certainly a 'must do' when visiting Launceston!

We did the 50 min cruise and it was well worth it. I have been to Launceston several times before and it was great to see it from the river. Cruisng into the Gorge is the highlight. The commentary is informative despite a few too many obvious promotions of certain businesses along the river.

A friend and I went on this informative, interesting, enjoyable cruise. The guide (cannot remember his name) shared his love and passion for his city and the 3 rivers. He was absolutely brimming with facts. I thoroughly enjoyed his dialogue. The views are fabulous. A very pleasant way to spend a few hours. I do wish they had a coffee... More

Excellent 2.5 hours cruise. Welcomed on board by the master Callum whose commentary throughout the cruise was really good, very informative and interesting. Also he was a good bird spotter and picked out two sea eagles and then slowed the boat right down so that everyone had the time to look at them. There was a never ending complimentary supply... Very disappointed wast of money. Nothing good that i can say except don't was your money. 50 minutes cruise spent half of it stuck on the bottom cause of low tide. You think for a business they would know the tide times.

WOW.... the boat cruise went so fast. Great afternoon had by all, our time was limited, but we will be back next time in Launceston for a longer cruise. Our Captain was great fun and shared a lot of knowledge of the area. Enjoyed by all.

Today my husband and I were treated to a new experience by taking an afternoon river cruise with Tamar River cruises. The trip was approximately 2 and half hours in duration. We were welcomed aboard by the cruise master and his female assistant, leaving promptly at 1.30. During the cruise we were treated to commentary regarding historical information about the... More

Due to limited time we chose the 50 minute cruise through Cataract Gorge. The delightful Jeremy was a font of knowledge and made the trip a very enjoyable experience.

We took the afternoon tea cruise, and thought it was perfect. The captain gave a ongoing commentary on the sights and the history of the area. The boat was comfortable, the staff very accommodating, the snacks were plentiful and delicious, and a bit of beer and wine tasting capped it off. The trip went up and down the river and... More
