Description: Experience the excitement and history of Launceston's spectacular Tamar...
Experience the excitement and history of Launceston's spectacular Tamar River from the comfort of our unique vessels. An informative commentary from our skippers will take you on a historical journey where you will discover the stories and tales that shaped Launceston and the Tamar Valley. Travel in to the heart of the Tamar and view the navigable section of the spectacular Cataract Gorge. Sample the delights of our local wines and cheeses as you view breathtaking scenery, world class vineyards, historical buildings, rural settings and frequent encounters of fascinating wild life including sea eagles, wild duck, black swans, pelicans, plus many other varieties of water-fowl and occasionally playful seals. We opted for the 50 minute tour as it was a rainy day and we were fed up walking around. We are so glad we did, we had a lovely time. Our skipper was full of knowledge and was such a friendly man. The scenery of the cliff faces of the gorge is stunning and it encouraged us to visit... More

We decided to take the 1 hour cruise to take a peek around, even though it was raining for most of the duration, it was fun and very informative. Take your camera and grab some great pics on this tour. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. If you do happen to experience inclement weather, fear not, the boats are well... More

Cruised the Tamar River out of Launceston for two and a half hours. Was really enjoyable and informative. The muffins and coffee were great and we were also treated to a nice little wine tasting of some of the Tamar River wineries produce. The cruise took us down the river and then back up to Cataract Gorge. Lots of history... More

We were lucky enough to get off our plane and quickly drive to the cruise and make it for the lunch cruise. We sat back had a delicious and very filling lunch while sipping on local wines. Couldn't have asked for a better way to start our holiday in Launceston.

My husband and I booked onto a four-hour cruise with morning tea and light lunch included. The cruise staff were lovely and the boat and amenities were good, however I think I would've enjoyed it more on one of the shorter cruise options. The initial part of getting out of Launceston just isn't that scenic and I felt we dwelt... More

We are a bit sceptical about "cruises" but this one excelled. The captain/guide gave us an excellent commentary about the history of the river, points of interest and went out of his way to stop for interesting wildlife, such as a white breasted sea eagle which he spotted in a tree, shut down speed and glided up to so we... We took the 50 minute cruise with Skipper Jeremy. What a character! His commentary was amusing and informative, delivered with a twinkle in his eye and an appropriate degree of scepticism. This short cruise was good value for money and took us around the South Esk and the Tamar down to King's Wharf before entering the North Esk gorge, where... More

We have just enjoyed a very good 2.5 hour cruise on the Odyssey. A fine sunny morning is great for cruising the Tamar with Callum. Good morning tea and the wine/beer tasting is a bonus.

We did the 50 min cruise and it was well worth it. I have been to Launceston several times before and it was great to see it from the river. Cruisng into the Gorge is the highlight. The commentary is informative despite a few too many obvious promotions of certain businesses along the river.
