Our tour was led by a woman whose father and grandfather worked with Boag, as did she and her husband, so she conveyed the living history of the establishment very well, bringing the modern facilities of the historic (and oldest) beer maker alive with links to and stories of the past. The tasting with cheese at the end was a... More

My partner and I went on this tour with one other couple and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The tour guide was so friendly and interesting, and not dry or dull at all. You get to go through the whole brewery and learn about all the processing stages. The tour is very interactive and relatively fast-paced so you won’t get bored.... More

We were not impressed with this tour, were not told before booking that there were a large number of stairs to negotiate, couldnt hear the guide even though she use an amplified headset, wasnt impressed how she belittled Southern Tasmania (found this to be totally unnecessary especially as there were international people on the tour), we were told the museum... Unfortunately we didn't have enough time for the tour, but went to the visitor centre and had a look around in the little museum, and tried some beers of course! The lady serving us was fantastic and explained a bit about the beers we were tasting. Walked out with Wizard and XXX (Red label), which you apparently can't buy outside... More

Looked like it would be a good tour, but for $30 with one person that drinks and the other that does not too expensive.

Unfortunately I just missed the tour, my son told me it was fantastic, not to be deterred I looked around the visitor center which is very interesting and enjoyed a beer on tap. The snack menu had a cheese plate for 2, as I was on my own I asked if this could be made for one and for a... More

We loved this tour and it was well worth the entry fee. I was concerned that our children would lose interest early on, but Sally, our wonderful, informative, interactive tour guide never let that happen. Of course, the beer and cheese tasting (and a soft drink for the kids) was a highlight. We recommended this tour to other travellers we... More

I love a good beer and I have to admit Tasmania makes the best beers in Australia. We visited Boags brewery and thoroughly enjoyed the tour and tasting. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and a great host. I walked away with a new favourite beer, Wizard Smith, and will have to return to restock.

We visited the James boag brewery and were not disappointed. This place is fantastic. We enjoyed a beer in the front bar but you could also use the beer garden. There is a museum upstairs if you don't have time for the tour. The building itself is gorgeous. The staff are amazing so knowledgeable and friendly. You can purchase gifts... More
